Description

The 18V LXT® Compact One-Handed Recipro Saw (XRJ08Z) is a versatile cutting solution that combines variable speed and low vibration with the convenience of one-handed operation for faster and more efficient cutting. The XRJ08 delivers 0 - 3,100 strokes per minute combined with a 7/8” stroke length for up to 55% faster cutting. It offers a low-vibration design that reduces operator fatigue with up to 40% less vibration (when compared to model number XRJ07ZXB). The loop-shaped handle offers rigidity for improved cutting efficiency. It can perform Up to 90 cuts in 2x10 lumber, and up to 50 cuts in 1" schedule 80 steel pipe with a 5.0Ah battery installed (battery and charger sold separately). The One-Handed Recipro Saw is engineered with a low- vibration design that features up to 40% less vibration. The XRJ08 is equipped with a counterweight mechanism that contributes to lower vibration levels when cutting. Low vibration levels contribute to longer tool use time for the user. Convenience features include a compact and ergonomic design of only 14-3/8” long making it ideal for working in tight spaces and overhead applications. To aid in reducing operator fatigue, the One-Handed Recipro Saw weighs only 5.5 lbs. (with battery, sold separately). It features a tool-less blade changing system to minimize downtime between blade changes. It has a built-in L.E.D. light that illuminates the workspace and a rubberized soft grip for increased comfort. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is a communication technology that allows the Star Protection- equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. • Excellent Weight and Performance
Style: Recipro Saw
Aside from the quality and reliability of Makita brand, the portability, weight, design, and performance of this product is truly astounding! I used a knockoff 18V 8.0mah battery to power this product and it cut small trees and branches like a hot knife through butter. I’m loving this tool!

  • 4.4 lbs not 1 lb, but this is an amazing saw and I'm a small, senior woman
Style: Recipro Saw
I love this saw so much...I needed to get rid of an old picnic table in my backyard. I tried a cordless Dewalt reciprocating saw and and a Makita 5-3/8 cordless circular saw to dismantle the picnic table and neither would cut through the wood. So, I bought this Makita saw and used a Diablo pruning saw and I was finally able to make some progress. The vibration is minimal too which helped a lot. I originally bought this saw because the description said it only weighed 1 lb but it actually weighs 4.4 lbs according to my scale. But it was easy to use because the handle is slim and it is not bulky with low vibration. I am 70, petite in height and weight and this is a blessing...so thank you Makita! ... show more

  • Another excellent Makita tool
Style: Recipro Saw
I bought this to replace an M18 one-handed sawzall and I don't regret it one bit. Powerful and very comfortable to use. The blade release mechanism is much nicer to use. Well worth the price.

  • Great for Pruning Trees and Shrubs
Style: Recipro Saw
Got tire of using hand saw for shrub and tree branches and then having to cu down to size for disposal. Tool is nice and light (able to use one handed) and made quick work of my landscaping. Worked right out of box able to use same battery as my Makita drill. VERY HAPPY!

  • Like the Impact Screw Driver - a real winner.
Style: Recipro Saw
Excellent power and battery life, light weight. Combined with a Diablo blade, it is amazing for pruning. Very pleased. If it lasts like other Makita tools have, I will come back and upgrade to 5. No problem cutting roots on the surface of my lawn, no problem trimming a maple, and no problem topping a pine. Old hard shrubs just cut perfectly. What a great tool. ... show more

  • Makita's Reciprocating Saw: A Symphony of Slicing Brilliance!
Style: Recipro Saw
Oh, let me regale you with the epic tale of my encounter with the Makita Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Compact One-Handed Reciprocating Saw! This tool, my friends, is not just a saw; it's a magical wand that transforms mundane tasks into a whimsical journey of cutting delight. Firstly, let's talk about weight – or should I say, lack thereof? This saw is as light as a feather on a diet! I half-expected it to float away like a helium balloon when I first picked it up. It's like the unicorn of power tools, granting me the power to effortlessly wield it with the grace of a seasoned ninja. Maneuverability? It's like the Michael Jordan of the power tool world. I can practically dance around obstacles with this bad boy. I felt like a fencing maestro, gracefully parrying and thrusting my way through the toughest materials. PVC pipes quivered in fear as I approached, knowing their fate was sealed by the Makita's brushless brilliance. Now, let's discuss the cutting action – it's smoother than a jazz saxophonist sliding into a sultry riff. I sliced through pipes like a hot knife through butter, and PVC practically begged for mercy under the gentle touch of this reciprocating maestro. It's so smooth, I'm convinced it moonlights as a barber in its spare time. Battery life? It's like a marathon runner on an energy drink diet. I embarked on a cutting spree that would make Paul Bunyan blush, and the Makita didn't break a sweat. It's like the Energizer Bunny, but with more finesse and less drum-banging. And the noise! Or should I say lack thereof? This saw is quieter than a library during a power nap. I half-expected to hear a hushed "shhh" every time I revved it up. My neighbors probably thought I was practicing the art of silent sawing meditation. In conclusion, the Makita Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Compact One-Handed Reciprocating Saw is not just a tool; it's a symphony conductor orchestrating the most melodious cuts in the power tool repertoire. It's so good; I almost feel guilty not paying for tickets to watch its performance. Bravo, Makita, bravo! ... show more

  • Best One
Style: Recipro Saw
I like this Makita cordless reciprocating saw best. It is smaller and will fit in to tighter places than the other two they make. Works great for plumbing.
