Description

Makita, a pioneer in Brushless motor technology and battery innovation, combines both in the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless reciprocating saw (tool only). It has an electronically-controlled BL Brushless motor that matches torque and RPM to the application, and is powered by the industry fastest charging 18V Lithium-Ion batteries (sold separately). with Makita, users can remain in one battery platform, using the same fast-charging 18V batteries on the XRJ05Z As they use across the Makita 18V LXT cordless tool line-up. The XRJ05Z is equipped with efficiency features for faster cutting. The long 1-1/4” stroke length increases cutting efficiency, and the refined crank mechanism design minimizes blade deflection and reduces vibration. Convenience features include an L.E.D. Light to illuminate the line of cut, a retractable tool hook, and "tool-less" Blade Change for faster blade installation and removal.

  • The most power to weight you're ever going to find, especially on the LXT platform.
Style: Recipro Saw Only
more power, more portability and more speed and less weight than my old Sawz-All. Got my deck demo done using only this saw to cut 20 joists into 4 pieces each. got a little warm, but not nearly as hot as my sawz-all did doing less. My friend set it on a truss and it fell off, hitting the concrete 7 feet below, and it didn't leave a scratch! Super quality! This saved me from having to hire a crew to demo my deck! super value! the stroke length is also superior to my old sawz-all, with 1-1/2" stroke vs 1-1/4". It's also 5x faster than my tiny Makita with its 7/8" stroke that i bought for plumbing use. ... show more

  • Typical Makita quality.
Style: Recipro Saw Only
Typical for Makita which is my favorite brand. Very powerful and easy to use. Blade changes are quick and easy.

  • Reliable
Style: Recipro Saw Only
I've used craftsman, Milwaukee, rigid, dealt and my maikta is my favorite. It operates smoother and quieter than the rest. I wouldnt say it's the most powerful, but the reliable and use of operation is great.

  • Repalces my old corded Porter-Cable
Style: Recipro Saw Only
I have an old (excellent) Porter cable that i used for years. I tried my friends version of this Sawzall and was hooked. i Already have a bunch of Makita 18V tools so this "brushless" model" was a no-brainer choice - 2 speeds yes you need it... for soft and tough materials also a middle "safe" position to protect your hands when changing blades or when not in use - Rafter Hanger, very convienent - soft start, until you have it, you don't realize how nice it is. It really makes starting a cut in material a dream - perfect balance - snap-in blade changes... It's so easy to insert a blade it actually took me a minute to figure it out. You just push the blade in and it snaps into place. - easy to adjust and to remove for cleaning shoe - LED light, again until you have it, you don't realize how nice it is. ... show more

  • Great portability
Style: Recipro Saw Only
15 years of using my corded reciprocating saw and I felt that a cordless will allow me to tackle worksites where AC power is located further away.....or negate my having to lug a heavy lithium power inverter unit. I already own several other Makita LXT tools so this was an easy, tool only, purchase

  • Future leader.
Style: Recipro Saw Only
On-time, personable, polite and presented well. Is there anything missing? He could be president, what a president should be that is.

  • Great power, but big & heavy
Style: Recipro Saw Only
I haven't used it that much yet. I bought it for occasional use around the house in a city - cutting fence posts and whatever needs done. I think I could've gone with the next smaller version form Makita, this one is big and heavy. One place that I tried to use it, to cut off a fence post that was put in adjacent to the exterior wall of the house, I couldn't get an angle that would cut the post without cutting the siding. It seems like a great tool, but if you're a relatively casual user like me, you might want to go with a smaller unit that's lighter and more agile. ... show more
