    • Trimmer is easy to maneuver while contouring a sage bush.
I needed to replace my older corded trimmer and checked what the market had. I needed to trim a large sage bush in my yard and my old trimmer was...end of service life. Lots of choices and price points out there, but I wanted something with more duty cycle than "homeowner" type tools. The Makita 21" corded trimmer fit the bill, i have several Makita products and am impressed with the performance. I did not want to get caught-up in the battery drama. The Makita is light and easy to maneuver, The cord belt clip worked good, the clear bush guard is a nice feature. The design of the handles helped with ease of use. The sage brush was easily trimmed with no jamming/binding of the teeth on the cutting bar. Trimmer is worth the cost...I was not cheated...lol ... show more

If you trinm a lot its well worth the extra price. I have 44 bushes and trim every 3 months so I appreciate the Makita quality. Use oil after each use to preserve the blades.

    • Sized to cut about 1/2 inch branches
The pictures are misleading and make the teeth look like they are spaced far apart to be able to cut bigger branches, but they are only a bit more than 1/2 inch wide. This tool seems powerful, but my old Black and Decker has teeth that are more than 3/4 inches apart so it may struggle to cut bigger branches, but at least it has the option. If you have branches that are 1/2 inch or smaller and very hard then this should be a great tool. ... show more

Too heavy and bulky Says 22 in not counting the protective shield which makes this longer than 22 in. For this reason I returned this product

This is the fourth trimmer I have owned. Some thought went into its design as it is the first one that I have been able to use comfortably with either hand. The trimmer stops immediately when you release either of the three switches.
