A great all-around combination for about anything you have to do. Plenty of power from the supplied 2 amp-hr batteries. Higher amp batteries would last longer, of course, but make the tool heavy! The 2amp-hr batteries are a sweet spot for weight and time between charges. Recharge is quick, and the little led display on each battery shows you the life remaining. Most often, I set up one to drill the holes, the other to drive the fasteners. I want to "give it the beans", the chuckless impact driver delivers. I want finesse, I set the clutch accordingly on the other drill. I have used this setup for all manner of projects, large and small, for nearly a year. Never fails to deliver.

First I bought this Makita 1/2" drill and 1/4" impact driver set for myself. Very impressed. Strong drill, reliable driver. Never breaks a fastener, but can drive a 4-1/2" Torx head screw into 2x4's all day. Bought a second set for work. Bought a third set so I could have a set in the house and a set in the garage. Bought a fourth set as a Christmas gift for a friend. The Makita 18-volt system is the best. So many tools work. Now I have a 1) Makita 36-v blower 2) Makita 18v hand vacuum with the cyclonic dust collector attachment 3) Makita 3/8" impact wrench 4) 2, Makita 1/2" drills 5) 2, Makita impact drivers 6) Makita jobsite radio 7) multiple 2-amp and 5-amp batteries 8) multiple single and dual chargers 9) Makita XSH032 6-1/2" circular saw (the only hand saw I'll ever need going forward) Buy Makita. You won't be disappointed.

Makita exceeds my expectations on this combo kit. First of all, the price is perfect for the quality and the items in the combo. The impart driver is probably the best I have used and I have compared with a few from Milwaukee and DeWalt, just to name a few. Note that this is not brushless version, but delivers its full potential. The drill is equally paired and up to par with the performance of the impact driver, but of course not having the torque. It is the sidekick for the attachments that would require a drill chuck, but the impact driver can pretty much most of the functions of the drill. The lithium batteries also are one of the faster charger/battery combo in the market. It's usefulness is evident when doing a demanding high paced project. This kit, I would recommend over buying the tools separately. Originally, I was given just the impact driver kit Makita XDT11R 18V Compact Lithium-Ion Cordless Impact Driver Kit as a gift, but also in need of an accompanying drill for my attachments that require drill chucks. Besides when in a demeaning project, I always find myself having an impact driver and a drill on a side, hand-in-hand. The impact driver in the kit on the link is the same exact impact driver in this kit. Now, if you purchase the "drill-only" that came in this combo kit, it will run you another $99+ Makita XFD10Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless Driver-Drill, Tool Only, 1/2", so for another $30 or so, this kit is the best value.

I have used the same 12V drill for about 15 years, so it was time for an upgrade. I realized what I’ve been missing all of these years and what a time-saver this combo set is. The drill is terrific and has great power, but the impact driver is the absolute winner. It’s the first time I’ve used one, but it just flies through screws. I was replacing deck boards that each took 18 screws, and it does it about 3x as fast as my old drill. No pilot holes were even necessary when drilling into 1” pressure treated lumber. The batteries really do charge in about 25 minutes, and the battery life is outstanding. The soft case is a little bulky — is rather have a hard, plastic case — but if that’s the worst thing about the set it’s a home run.

The 2.0 AH batteries are long lasting & powerful, plus the recharge time is only 25 minutes. This kit comes with two lithium batteries as well. Similar kits from other brands have one lithium battery for the drill, so this kit stood out to me for that reason. Having used a 12 volt impact on the job before I knew how powerful it was. The 18 volt version is even more powerful & handles more work than I can give it around the house. From building a deck to rotating my full size truck tires, it keeps impressing me. This is a great kit for both the pro & homeowner alike.

Love my Makita cordless drill/driver combo kit. This is my second set, my first set was stolen out of my truck. Love how the carrier bag is shaped so you can put a medium size container of drill bits in it and a medium size container of driver screwbits.

This item is the best item i ever bought from Amazon, these are the best drivers i ever used. The drivers are small, compact and light weighted, very easy to hold on hand and work for hours without any problem. Battery has power indicator, so you can check when it is getting empty so you can charge it. The drivers also contains a powerful led lights, which is very helpful when you work at night or in a dark place. The set also contains a fast charger, you can charge the battery in 20 minutes and work for hours. Excellent and very recommended set :)
