The Makita 5.0Ah battery has a category-leading charge time of only 45 minutes, so it spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger. The 18V LXT 5.0Ah battery is compatible only with Star protection tools, indicated by the Star symbol and/or yellow battery receiver under the tool. Makita 18V Lithium- Ion batteries resist self-discharge so they’re ready for use even after long periods of storage. The Makita Rapid optimum charger (sold separately) is a smart-charging system that communicates with the battery during the charging process to monitor current, voltage and temperature. This advanced charging technology helps optimize battery life and deliver a faster charge. In addition, the charger has a built-in fan to Cool the battery for faster and more efficient charging, even in hot weather conditions.

all of these makita batteries were mostly charged, i topped them all off and they all fill up no dead ones. also for what its worth , i do have one charger (out of 3) that doesn't like to receive the batteries without a bit of a wiggle. that is likely the charger but it does seem a little odd. I would not keep that from you buying them though. good deal ... show more

Fantastic deal on some makita batteries that I've been searching for. Not only was it the cheapest price I've come across on the shelves or online, the seller was fantastic and went out of their way to make sure I was 100% satisfied. 1 out of the ten batteries I purchased had a manufacturer defect and the seller quickly corrected the situation! All Makita batteries, all 18v 5mah, and ten of them for $640 total, delivered to my door. That's $64 per battery, and as of the Fall of 2019, you can't beat that price per battery anywhere. Get the four position charger and you're ready to work. I numbered each battery with a paint marker, so I can keep track if any of them start getting weak, but they're all Makita brand LXT batteries, so I don't anticipate any troubles with them. ... show more
