This art kit is a great all-in-one starter pack for kids who love to draw and paint. The colored pencils are definitely the standout—smooth, vibrant, and better quality than I expected for a kids’ set. The markers are about what you’d expect for children’s markers: not professional quality, but pigmented enough to keep kids happy and creative. The crayons feel more like the bulk kind you’d get at restaurants, so they’re not amazing, but they get the job done for casual coloring. Surprisingly, the watercolors are really nice—well pigmented and fun for little ones to experiment with. It even comes with a guide for watercolor techniques which is fantastic. The fold-up case is a big plus. It keeps everything organized, folds up compactly, and is super easy to travel with. The packaging of this art set is both cute and functional, but unfortunately that's really the highlight of the set. The included crayons had quite a few issues with some wrappers being unusually oily and discolored and some of the crayons being deformed. Both the crayons and the pencils wrote adequately and were usable for shading light and dark and did not feel uneven or waxy. The eraser worked for both the crayons and pencils. The watercolor paints worked fine without anything significant to report here. They suggested using the center to mix paint colors, but I am not sure how you would clean it without getting all of the paint wet when doing this. Overall, outside of the packaging I think there are probably better options out there. ... show more
