This farmhouse dog crate is seriously impressive. It looks more like a piece of high‑quality furniture than a dog kennel, and the barn‑door style adds a perfect rustic touch to the room. The wood panels feel solid, and the ventilation is excellent, giving my dog plenty of airflow and visibility. My small/medium dog took to it right away — the interior is spacious and comfortable, and the crate doesn’t rattle or feel flimsy at all. Reviewing MAHNACRIS 31.5” Farmhouse Dog Crate Furniture with Barn Door, This is an assembly required piece. Everything lined up well and the instructions were easy enough to follow. All-in-all, it took about 45 minutes to put it together. It took some finagling to get the metal bar panel on the side lined up but once it did line up, it stayed in place. The sliding door works well. It doesn’t squeak and is easily held in place with the lower latches so our dog can’t get out of it. I didn’t realize how narrow it would be though. Nor did I realize how thin the metal bars or the pressboard paneling would be. Our dog is 48 lbs and this crate is almost too small for her and if she were hyper when in her crate, it would not hold her. We measured her and she does fit comfortably but it is hard for her to turn around in it and again, I wouldn’t trust it to hold her if she wanted out. That is our fault for not closely looking at the depth measurement. The pressboard is not the best quality. I would like it better if it were real wood and not MDF w/veneer on top but it would be much heavier and much more expensive if that were the case. It is sturdy enough to handle a medium to small dog that is calm. The top is also sturdy enough to use as an end table or nightstand, but if you put drinks on it, you’ll want to use a coaster. Overall, for the price, the quality is decent but it will turn out not to be a good choice for a lot of dogs. On the plus side, it looks nice and didn't have any missing parts. This crate was relatively easy to put together. The directions can be understood. It took both my husband and me about an hour to get it up and running. The door has an easy access for my Corgi to come and go as she pleases (we leave the door open for her). I don't have to worry about catching the open door with my toes as I walk by, because it slides open. For what it is, it's a sturdy piece of furniture that can easily be overlooked as a dog kennel.
