I don't know who came up with the idea of having magnets on a microwave oven food cover, but it was a brilliant idea. I had a larger cover, and it was always a hassle to get it put back into a cabinet. With this, I just stick it to the inside roof of the microwave, and it's already there and ready to use, and it sticks well enough so that I don't worry about it falling down. It's also a good size and height so that it covers the plate and food well. Right in the middle of my microwave where this cover sticks, looks like some kind of vent. So, when I don't need the cover to warm something up, I take it out as a precaution. Your microwave might be different, so you might not have to worry about that. This works very well. Was concerned it wouldn’t fit in my microwave, but it does. One thing I did not realize, used one at my sisters home, is that if you are not using it to cover something, to prevent splattering, you are supposed to take it out, not leave it attached to the ceiling of the microwave. ... show more

We've had one of these in the house for ages, then I though why not get one for the camper microwave? It encourages/reminds my husband to cover his food before microwaving. But the absolute best part is, though, that once you open the microwave, you don't have to stop and lift up the usual plastic covers that sit on the floor of the microwave in order to put your food/plate in.
