I got a wireless charger for my vehicle that attaches to a vent and I tried to use the metal ring that you tape sandwiched between the phone and case to give better magnetic strength. It didn’t work, expansion joints on the highway would toss my phone on the ground! The product is an excellent enhancement for older iPhones like my 2nd Gen iPhone SE. It can use the Apple MagSafe Charger as a Qi Charger, which is really cool. The PROBLEM that I ran into is that the Qi charger, requires users to place your phone on the charger JUST RIGHT. If you miss? It looks right, it makes a "bing" sound, the lightning bolt symbol appears... and if the alignment isn't quite right, 30 seconds later disappears and gives you a notification that I didn't always notice. So about 20-30% of the time, my phone wouldn't charge at all, it might be dead, and in the worst case scenario, my alarm didn't go off, and now I'm running late to work! This product adds the magnets that newer phones have built in. Now my Qi charger aligns perfectly. I wish I had bought it earlier! ... show more

First I’ll say when it comes to these things it’s best to get the original and more compatible products. I wanted to save money cause the original tech 21 case with the charging strip that I got for the 15 pro is almost $50. But it’s going to end up costing more since I purchased this one first. This one is nothing like it because I got it use the same charger and swap phones for work except this case gets hot while charging and NOT in use. Very cheap mag strip. Going to order the original case today instead. I’m not even confident it’ll protect my phone from a drop. Spend the extra money to save your phone and time. ... show more

My iPhone 12 Mini can't use a wireless charger for anything. It always lights up when I set it on the charger then by the morning it hasn't charged at all. So I use the lightning plug but I'm just SO lazy. I got this case and a magsafe charger and it's perfect! It charges every time, no worries about finding just the RIGHT spot, I even got a portable magnetic charger and one for in the car. PERFECT!!!!
