The Scosche MPQ5DV-XTSP MagicMount Pro Charge5 Dash/Vent Mounting Kit with Wireless Charger is powerful magnetic mounting system for conveniently mounting your Smartphone to the dash or vent inside your vehicle. You get 2 different mounting options inside one package: a vent or dash mount. Simply attach the appropriate base to the MagicMount head and wirelessly charge any compatible device with up to 10-Watts of charging power without having to plug a charging cable directly into the device. The foreign object detection makes sure that charging only activates when nothing is obstructing that area (such as metal objects). Our wireless charging mount is perfect for use with compatible Smartphone devices and the iPhone 12, 13 or later with a MagSafe (without the need to use a MagicPlate) to secure the phone to the mount and wirelessly charge it. For non-MagSafe devices, the cradle-free design eliminates the need to tighten around your device, just hover your device near the magnetic surface and instantly lock it securely into place. The extra powerful N50 neodymium magnets are 30% stronger than the original MagicMounts to hold your mobile phone securely in place even on the bumpiest roads and are still 100% safe for all modern Smartphones. The removable vent clips make it easy to switch the mount holder from one vehicle to another. The vent clips attach to both small and large sized louvers. OK, so I purchased this for my car so I could have a wireless charging phone holder...and this delivers that. It provides a consistent charge to my phone even while the phone is in its case (unlike my other charger that I replaced with this). Suction works great on the dash and hasn't come off once while the phone is on it. The MagSafe connection holds reasonably well, and this mount comes with a little metal plate that can be added to your phone case for extra holding power; however, the tape on it didn't stick very well to my phone case and came off the second time I pulled it off the charger. I suppose I could purchase molding tape or something more sticky to put it back on, I just haven't gotten around to it. Still, even without the additional metal plate, the phone stays on the MagSafe reasonably well, but yeah, the phone will drop off if you hit a big bump. It does hold my phone up on the dash, which is nice because it's out of the way of the air vents when the heat is on, but it will then obstruct the view. The unit no longer charges after the 3rd day of using it. Piece of junk with a magnet now. There is no light on the LED at the top and I know my charge port works because other chargers work on it. I was already not Liking it because the power cable is attached to the base and uses a barrel jack so you are forced to use their car charger. If it was universal usb or usb-c then that would make life easier. there car charger also sucks, its very thin and loose in my cars charging ports. all other chargers fit much better than this one. Paid over 100$ for this charger, base/mount, and magnetic case and it worked ok (slow charge my only complaint) for a couple months, but now (5 Mos later) it routinely disconnects and stops charging. Have to disconnect the phone from the stand and reattach. Then it'll charge a while then stop again. I've tried cleaning the contacts and even using a different phone combo. it works, but the charging port is permanently attached to a cigarette lighter adapter (rather than being a USB A) and the ball joint is not a standard size. I have learned the hard way, as I needed to add an elbow between the base and a dock, and it’s pretty much impossible to find a 12mm ball joint (I think that’s is what it is). however, while trying to deal with that, the charger is on again off again as all of us old enough to remember cheap cigarette lighter adapters knows too well. it does mount to a pro clip base, but 60 days in and I am buying a new one - convenient how it always happens after the return period. I should perhaps only give it one star, but I have it two because the concept is sound…the execution is flawed. ... show more
