The ONLY cabinet locks we went to buy are these magnetic ones from Safety Baby. We’ve had our originals for over two years now, and they still work perfectly. Before buying baby locks, we did tons of research on which type and brand to buy. We ended up choosing magnetic locks, and I am so glad we did! They are so easy to use, and they definitely pass the toddler test. Our little man will hold on to the cabinet handles and pull and pull, but they stay shut. All we have to do is bring the magnetic key close to the lock, and you can hear the "click" as it unlocks. So easy, and it works 100% of the time! Also, there is a base for the magnetic key that you can attach with 3M tape, which has been really useful. We attached the base to the top corner of the refrigerator, making it very easy for us to grab the key to open any locks in the kitchen, and it also has the benefit of keeping the key out of reach from our toddler. It is also super convenient to have a base for the key because you put the key back in the same place each time, so it doesn't get lost. There is also a little switch on each of the locks that can turn the magnet off, so then your locks are inactive. I imagine this will be a really useful extra addition when we are past the point of needing child locks. I also love that you can just flip the switch back to make the locks active again, just in case you have another little one running around trying to get into cabinets a few years down the road. Overall, I am so impressed with the quality of product and with the level of customer service. I was shocked to read some negative reviews. The company has been incredibly kind, has reached out to check and make sure we're happy with the product, and asked for any suggestions or improvements. We have never had this kind of customer service offered to us, and it really made an impression. I never leave Amazon reviews, but we are so pleased with the product and the service that we are actually writing a review. Just got these and had the hubby install them. He had no problem installing them, and even though they are pretty darn secure, my husband went ahead and put 2 small screws in each of the pieces that attach to the inside, top part of the cabinet, not the piece that attaches to the cabinet door. That took him less then a minute to do with a drill. The piece that attaches to the cabinet door itself has a much larger surface area for the adhesive to grab. I don't know that these are meant to have screws, but if you remove the existing adhesive on that inside, top cabinet piece it has small holes that almost look like that's exactly what they're for, to use screws if you wanted. Screws do not come with this though, we just keep all kinds of screws in an organizer. ...The magnet is very easy to use, although I'm not sure why this wouldn't come with at least 2 keys, doesn't make sense to me. I ordered a separate key because I have two of these on the opposite end of my house. One other major gripe I have is that I wish that these would come with a couple extra adhesives for each piece too, that is a must I think. In case you mess one up or you want to move one. The feature I really like is that you can simply turn a dial just under the latch that will leave the locking piece down so that you don't have to keep using the key if say you're using your vanity and need to keep going in and out of a cabinet. Just have to remember to turn it back so it will lock when you're done. These are definitely worth the money, and much easier to use than any other cabinet/door latches that we've used before. The other good thing is that even if you have to remove these and the adhesive damages some of the cabinet, it's not on the outside, and the underside piece you can't see at all unless you get down and look up. ... show more

    • Aesthetically satisfying, but a bit hard to install
These safety Baby Magnetic Cabinet Locks are fantastic for anyone (like my husband) who doesn't want thing visibly showing that you have a baby lock on them. There isn't any outside mechanism that is visible and it locks very nicely. The magnet works just as described and you can open the cabinet just as before. Here are my Pros and Cons: PROs: Once installed correctly, it works beautifully. It locks in place, you put the magnet over it and it unlocks, just as expected Like I mentioned before, the "lock" is behind the door so you can't visibly tell that there is a baby lock, which is great for aesthetics CONs: I won't lie, installing this wasn't the easiest in the world. It's not difficult and by no means something that outweighs the benefits, but you do have to eyeball the hook quite a bit. I didn't place the latch part in alignment with the hook the first time, and those 3M stickers are pretty sticky even with a light touch. It wasn't hard to pull off, though, and re-stick. Second con is the strength of the sticker. This is working GREAT for my 10 month old, but I can already tell by the force that he pulls on that handle that given a few months, he'll rip that sticker right off. The benefit of those plastic locks that go around the handles is that it's truly locked. In this situation, it's more, roadblocked. Overall, I think these are a solid buy for anyone trying to keep curious hands out of certain cabinets. You may have to upgrade in a few months, but for the time being, they are doing the trick! ... show more
