  • Received as described
I was concerned based off other reviews, but I got all 5 different decks as described.

  • Do NOT Order Until We Know The Duplicate Deck Issue Is Fixed
If I had got what I ordered… I’d give it 5 stars. My friend has these decks and they play very well. For the price, it’s hard to get 5 Commander decks this good. So great for beginners. The PROBLEM and why it’s only getting 1 star (I’d give 0 if I could) is I got 5 of the same deck as many other reviewers did too. I requested the return and planned to ship it back soon. I explained on the automated return process that I got 5 of the same deck but was supposed to get 5 different decks. The replacement came fast so that was nice… only to be further disappointed that I now had to deal with TWO returns and still didn’t have what I was supposed to get. A hassle and Amazons fully automated return process with no people is horrible at correcting mistakes like these. I’ll wait a couple months before trying again but this is ridiculous! ... show more

  • Great for starters
Great family starter set(for the most part). The token triumph and grave danger decks are really fun and decent out of the box. For a little bit of money, they can be upgraded to play very well. The chaos incarnate deck is pretty complicated and a weird synergy for new players. It doesn't stay on 1 theme very well. Definitely a great buy for several new players looking to learn. ... show more

  • GREAT first step into Commander
Just started playing commander and these seemed like a good deal. A few online reviews said they're really low power and not great, but if you're just getting started these are a GREAT starting point. You get FIVE different decks, in different color pairs, with different themes. You get to try out some different playstyles to decide which one speaks to you more before spending money on a more expensive deck to realize it's just not your style. Do you go for flyers and card draw? What about a zombie mill deck with lots of graveyard interaction? Demons forcing your opponents to sacrifice creatures and loose life outside of combat? Or go big with DRAGONS or wide with lots and lots of tiny creature tokens! These are all great base decks to upgrade as well. I added another ~$50 worth of singles to the Token Triumph deck and brought its power up high enough to hold its own at Friday Night Magic with the other players there - even grabbing a few wins! If you already know what kind of deck you're looking for, by all means go pick up a stronger precon for a bit more. If you're like I was and wasn't really sure what I wanted or where to start - these are a great place to start! ... show more

  • Common problem.
Well, looks like I should have read the reviews on this one, because apparently this is a very common outcome. Have a group of friends that have been playing with some of my cards but have none of their own, so good friend that I am I buy the precon commander decks to shell out to them. To my surprise I got 5 of the same deck, even though it was advertised as 5 different decks. I wouldn't have even been upset if there were like 3 different decks, since I was planning on keeping one or two for myself, but this was super lame. Total let down. ... show more

  • Good starter preconstructed decks
These are great preconstructed starter decks. Each deck has a fold out poster that includes details about the deck and lore/background on the Commander (see the picture with the flying sphinx). Of the 5, I did not receive the 1 for the Green/White deck (see the picture of the Green/White Commander card). I did submit a ticket to Wizards directly, but I haven't received a response in over a week now, which is why I rated this 4 instead of 5 stars. Each set has several double-sided token cards, a deck box and several cardboard punch out tokens. The box holds all 100 cards with card sleeves. I started playing Commander in-person at local shops the last few weeks and these decks are pretty good. There are a lot of overpowered mechanics and cards now so these decks are definitely not a sure bet, but a great place to start. ... show more

  • Got all 5, great price
Looking through the reviews I figured I’d take a risk and try. Got all 5 and all were in a sealed box, no damage of any kind. Happy with the price and was able to surprise my son with the game of magic using two of the decks as an intro. I used to play back in the Alpha days, and a few of the first few generation, but left the game after a few years (wish I still had those cards!) So this was a re-introduction to me as well. When buying I didn’t realize the “commander” concept was more of a “multiplayer” mode, so we were a little surprised by that, we ended up playing a game of “standard” for the first round just to get used to the mechanics. That aside, price was good, and everything arrived as expected. I look forward to playing more with him using these very nice decks. ... show more

  • Great value for new and older players to get into comander.
Great seller. Shipped and got there early. Huge deal for these decks as the dragon deck sells for $40-$60 by its self. These have great power for precon decks. Not just for newbys. The whole family can play
