  • ★★★★☆ Wholesome Flavor and Fun Gameplay — Minor Tweaks Needed for Competitive Play
Style: Blue-Red-White
The Family Matters deck from Bloomburrow is easily one of the most charming precons I've played in a long time. The woodland creature theme is absolutely delightful—brimming with flavor, and every card feels like it belongs in a cozy, storybook world. The art direction is top-tier, and the deck’s synergy around family and teamwork mechanics is incredibly well done. You can tell a lot of care went into crafting this. Gameplay-wise, the deck is a ton of fun right out of the box. It’s accessible for newer players but has enough layers of synergy to keep more experienced players engaged. I played a few games straight out of the packaging and had a great time watching the deck come to life. That said, I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1. Power Level: Out of the box, it's just a bit underpowered compared to some other recent Commander precons. A couple of the creatures or support spells could use slight upgrades if you're planning to take this to a more competitive table. 2. Mana Base: The land selection works, but it’s not optimized. Some color-fixing or faster lands would’ve made a huge difference, especially in a deck that thrives on getting multiple creatures out efficiently. Still, for casual Commander nights, flavor lovers, or anyone who enjoys well-themed decks with solid synergy, Family Matters is a great pick. I’m already making a few tweaks to upgrade it—and I’ll be keeping this adorable critter family in my rotation. ... show more

  • Fun
Style: All 4 Decks
Good decks, fun, they all play well against each other and player made decks.

  • Giant squirrels for the win
Style: Black-Green
Never have squirrels inspired so much fear as in my commander pod :) I put a few upgrades into this deck and now I must have a rule 0 discussion before I can bring it to the table. Great value and a fantastic deck!

  • Perfect beginner black/green deck!
Style: Black-Green
Me and my wife are new to MTG and initially bought the Bloomburrow starter kit to start learning with. We quickly realized we wanted commander decks, and my wife seems to favor black/green cards so this was the perfect deck for her! We're not seasoned veterans of the game, but the deck seems to be quite strong and can definitely give other precon decks a run for their money. Plus, who doesn't like squirrels? ... show more

  • Great variety in pack of cards
Style: Blue-Red-White
Fun and enjoyable! My husband loved the options as he started getting into Magic. Cards came in perfect condition, looked great and were easy to put into his sleeves.

  • Very fun to play
Style: All 4 Decks
I pre-ordered all four and have played with them a lot. I have since deconstructed all but the squirrel deck, and have used the cards in other deck builds that I have really enjoyed playing. Definitely worth what I paid for it, and I got way better cards than I did from the play boosters. The Bumbleflower deck is good at sneaking up on opponents and ends up feeling a bit voltron-y just with the amount of commander damage you swing around. It has some group-interaction cards, but I would not call it group hug. The Zinnia deck wasn’t quite it for me, but I repurposed it to make an artifact creatures deck using the offspring mechanic, and I really enjoyed playing playing it. Squirrels are consistent and fun to play, and it’s nice to have the versatility of instant mana creation in your commander to react when it’s not your turn. I didn’t play the Gruul deck much before taking it apart, mostly because the indestructible enchantments were a little OP and not quite my style. It has a ton of versatile enchantments in it though that I have used to improve many of my other decks. ... show more

  • Fun Deck that isn't ready for cEDH
Style: Red-Green
This is a fun deck that just isn't ready for competitive play. 4/4s are only going to get you so far even with a few bonuses and some other creatures. It's going to need some tuning if you want to run it against more competitive decks. Still. Trash Panda make trash do smash! Woohoo! It's a fun concept and with a few tweaks I think it can be a great deck. I paid preorder prices so I got it for like $40ish and I think that's a good value. I wouldn't pay much more than that though if these inflate in the future. ... show more
