    • Worst design I've ever seen/
The microwave works, but that's all that could be said for it. It's the worst designed microwave I've ever used, hands down. Unless you're interested in cooking something for one of the preset times, every single thing has extra steps. Sometimes just one extra step, sometimes two, three, or four. Also, the buttons are hard to press to the point that if you have to take an item out and stir it more than twice, your fingers hurt from the stiffness of the controls and the extra steps required to operate it. The write-up did not specify that there needed to be 4 inch clearance top/sides/back around the microwave. Because of this, we are having to move the unit close to the edge of the counter. Great microwave, however, it beeps when u open door, close, and every time your food is done. I did not know microwaves nowadays have no sound control.     • Replacement door swith unavailable
This oven has given good service, but finally went kaput today on Thanksgiving day. When we input a time and hit start, the internal light comes on, and the timer starts counting down, but nothing else happens: no hum to indicate heating, no turntable rotation. From what I've read this is most likely the secondary door switch gone bad. But even though this model is not discontinued, I have searched extensively online and am unable to find a the switch to purchase. It should be part# MCH4415A17352, and it should be an easy replacement. But nope, it looks like I'll have to buy a whole new microwave because of this stupid switch! I'm steamed! ... show more

This is the second Magic Chef microwave I've had. I miss the handle that the older one had. In addition, part of a time when the microwave is started, the timer counts down, but the actual microwaving doesn't happen. I have to open, shut, reset one or more times to get it to work.     • Good Repacement for Older Unit
This replaced a Magic Chef microwave that has served me well for 24 years. Its platter was a composite material that warped with age and would no longer engage its drive gear properly but was still working. This unit has good potential with a glass platter and different drive system. Its 1100 watts heats food better than the older one. It is quieter than the older one. It is mainly used for microwave dinners, reheats and popcorn. The only drawback is that the buttons are a little harder to push; as I am an elder person with Parkinson's.
