    • Excellent Quality Purchase!
I rarely write these reviews, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this microwave that I wanted to say something about it. My last microwave was purchased at Home Depot and lasted exactly two years (right outside of the 2 year warranty I had purchased for $18). I have all white appliances and wasn't sure how this stainless steel color would fit in my kitchen, but it really looks great and blends nicely. I've had success with Magic Chef in the past, but couldn't find one when my last one broke, so purchased from Home Depot instead. The handle on this unit is really nice, and I agree with the other reviewers that it's the quietest microwave I've ever owned! I also like the quick timer choices (30 sec and 1-5 min). Just push the button and it starts immediately. Thus far it seems to heat more efficiently than my last appliance which was the same size and power level. Not sure why that would be unless it's just a function of quality. The price on this item was excellent! And I also purchased the 4 year warranty for $5 (how can you beat that?). I hope that the warranty coverage is easier to use than my past experience with HD. Regardless, I wanted to give this item and the shipper a high rating. I received the item (free shipping) in less than 2 days for no extra charge. Now that's service! The only negative for me is that the numbers on the panel against a black background are hard to read. But frankly, I usually only use the quick pick 30 sec (and on this one 1-5 minutes) choices anyway for most foods. I hope that this unit lasts for more than a year or two. We'll see... ... show more

    • Does not work!
I purchased this microwave the end of August and I never got to use it due to being away from my home right after delivery and returning the day before Thanksgiving and I got to heat up a bottle for my son 1 minute normally works and it is cold luke right out of the refrigerator cold! 2 minutes not better, 3 minutes barely like warm. And of course I'm outside the window of return at this point So I have a nonworking brand new microwave I can't do anything with. I wouldn't buy this product. Bought this based on the reviews. I myself find it to be about average. My last microwave i replaced did not seem to be cooking things that well and with this one i also find myself pushing the add 30sec button time and time again. I will give it that it seems after 1 or 2 30sec adds, it does seem to cook more thoroughly thru but for the price still not that impressive. I would say i would trust this one over lots of others just because reviews on this alone, just wished it worked a little better. ... show more

    • Very nice microwave for the price!
After considerable research for a new microwave, I can say I am quite pleased with the Magic Chef. The microwave is large enough for what my family uses, yet is quite powerful. Other reviews have stated that this machine was noisier than most, but i do not feel that it is any louder than any other microwave I've owned. My wife enjoys the handle feature rather than a posh button model. The keypad is different than all the other units I've previously owned, however I've found that it makes quite a bit of sense and can quickly input the length of time required. One thing I do not like about the keypad is that the text is quite small and the text color does not stand out very well to the background. I find it necessary to have a light on in order to see what I'm entering unless just using the 30 second timer at the bottom. ... show more

    • Kinda loud
Most of the time it starts out loud then gets a tiny bit quiet. Can not get a fully popped bag of popcorn. I have tried the popcorn button and just setting the time. Other then that it heats stuff up. My old microwave one turned on whenever the door was opened... so this one is great.

Purchased as a replacement for a regular toaster, and we are very pleased with it as it functions in so many other ways beyond simple "toast". Easy to use and provides even heat and toasting level. Well made, sleek, functions well. My only complaint is how hot the outside of the oven gets. Make sure to keep it away from your walls and other items near it, unless you want them to melt. And don't touch the outside while it's in use, it gets extremely hot. ... show more

    • The right power and size at the right price!
The price was right for an 1100W Nuker. It does the job of heating my food but I wish it had a backlit display and the buttons are a bit fiddly for a touch-panel (you have to hit in the exact right spot).

    • Doesn't work well!
Oven doesn't heat properly. My previous 700 watt oven heated much faster. Microwave makes strange noise when first starts then disapates. Could have been damaged in shipping as packaging was poor.
