Overall, this does what I need it to do, which is to make my iPad more convenient to use with OR without the Magic Keyboard. It's the best product I've found. First, it's lightweight and streamlined. Second, it protects the corners of the iPad. Third, it enables me to detach my iPad from the Magic Keyboard, keeping my iPad protected, lightweight, and portable. The pencil holder is excellent (pic1), and it's easy to remove the pencil when needed. And it works with my remote page turner (pic 2), which my previous iPad's skin did not. My CoverBuddy arrived *slightly* warped in the TX summer heat. After a couple months of use, I see NO visible warping when I remove it. It fits well (pic 3) and I am using a screen protector, which is not recommended. All in all, a great product that makes my iPad safely usable with and without the Magic Keyboard.

Fantastic product. I didn’t think the Magic Keyboard had sufficient protection around the edges of my iPad, I bought this product to bridge the gap in proteciton and it has worked perfectly. I switch between my Magic Keyboard and the Pitaka folio case and it is the perfect combo. I was hesitant to get this because I read that it interferes with the Magic Keyboard closing, but that has not been my experience. If you’re on the fence go for it, this case has been great for me.

This product does everything I was hoping: It protects my iPad, it allows connection to the Magic Keyboard without having to take it off and it still collapses fully, and it secures my Apple Pencil well. However, I had to return this item within a month because it no longer was allowing my iPad to connect to the Magic Keyboard. I’ve attached a picture, there are three spring contacts and two of them stayed pressed down all the time and could not be corrected back to their normal state. The springs still worked but the contacts would not fully extend. I like the product well enough that I exchanged it for a new one, I’m hoping this was a problem a bad apple and not a design flaw but we will see. For now it’s 4 stars because I had to exchange it (would have been 5 stars if not for that) but I will update this review if I have to return it again. UPDATE: The replacement case did the same thing with the jammed spring contacts. Within two weeks it had lost the ability to connect to the Apple Magic Keyboard. Definitely a design flaw and it makes the case unusable. I’ve updated my rating to 1 star.

Works as intended. PROS Ease of removal: comes off easy. Goes on easy. Fit: it is snug and does not mess with the screen protectors I’ve used. Quality: it feels like a strong enough plastic and has a nice “felt-like” padding. Ipencil slot: I never have to worry if the pencil will come off from being bumped or pressed. It is decently sized and has zero issues with the pencil connecting to charge. Magic Keyboard Compatible: yes! It works well and has no issues with the magnetic attaching to the keyboard. It charges thru the keyboard as well, when open. CONS Felt-like padding: while it makes it feel like great quality, it adds a bit too much space between the iPad & Magic Keyboard, which causes a slight separation between the pins when you close it. It’s not a problem, unless you were planning on plugging into the keyboard to charge, rather than the iPad, itself. Solutions: 1) plug it into the iPad. 2) place a heavy book on it. 3) only charge it via the keyboard while it’s open. Recommended: not highly, but definitely over other similar brand versions.

(UPDATE) Someone from MAGEASY reached out almost immediately and let me know that there is a 1-year warranty. I ordered another one since I love the product regardless, but they gave me a refund. (The product price went up since 6 months ago, prob due to global economic !@#$). Great service. Thank you. --- Can someone from MAGEASY help? I bought this around 6 months ago, and only reason was so i can use my iPad Pro 11 with my Magic Keyboard seamlessly. I don't take the iPad out of the cover. I started noticing if I plug in my usb C charger directly into the iPad (for data + charging purposes), the keyboard did not work. After a bunch of testing, the connector of the CoverBuddy pins are flattened, and so data connecting directly to my iPad won't let me use my keyboard -- which defeats the whole purpose of buying this. It has been LESS THAN 6 MONTHS. I would really like someone to cover for the manufacturing defect please.

I was a little nervous about this, because some reviews said it was cheap and/or flimsy. I am very happy with it. It provides the protection I was hoping for, yet remains small enough to not add any real bulk to the Apple Magic Keyboard. The bottom of the iPad (when in landscape) is not protected, but it can’t be and still be compatible with the keyboard. All other sizes and corners are protected. The build quality is good. The only negative is the volume buttons are difficult to use and require more force than I wished.

I purchased this CoverBuddy back in November 2025. I installed it easily once it arrived, and I’ve used it every day since. However, over the last week, I began to see that my iPad was not charging via the Magic Keyboard - and some of the keystrokes and mouse pad were not functioning properly. I first thought it was due to some problem within my iPad or keyboard… but after removing the CoverBuddy, the iPad with keyboard started functioning flawlessly. Upon close inspection of the CoverBuddy, I found that the gold contacts on the cover were no longer making a connection with the iPad. 2 of those 3 contacts appear to have broken and no longer protruded far enough to make contact. The CoverBuddy is a well-thought-out product… all but the quality of the contacts. I have attempted to reach MAGEASY for warranty support.
