This is a superbly designed and built bed frame. I'm a mechanical idiot, and was really afraid I wouldn't be able to assemble it, but it couldn't have been easier, and I was working alone. Some of the parts were connected already when I took them out of the box, and the instructions were wonderfully clear and comprehensible. They're all pictorial, no written instructions, but done so well that I had no trouble understanding them. I agree with other writers here as follows: (1) study the pictures carefully before you begin each step so you don't have to go back and repeat something, (2) don't tighten the screws until you have the whole frame assembled, and (3) don't try to remove the washers from the screws. I was so pleased that the holes were drilled correctly and the screws were easy to put in--no alignment problems. The inclusion of crescent and allen wrenches was very helpful, and the extra parts provided was a very nice touch (I didn't need them, but I'm keeping them just in case). Also, the slats drop in with short sides (not the flat sides) facing up, providing added strength and stability. Once it was finished, I yanked the frame back and forth and shook it hard, and there was no give or squeaking; it feels very solid. Another nice touch was the four tabs, one for each side, that are to keep the mattress from sliding on the frame. (I confess I also bought a non-skid pad to put under the mattress just in case, but I'm a worrier.) The final great thing was the rounded corners on the four corner legs; that's a very thoughtful (and attractive) idea that will reduce the chance of bruising toes as I'm changing the sheets. Product came a day later than expected but arrived in a timely manner. The color was pretty spot on from what the pictures depicted on the website along with the claims of stability. The instructions could be a little better and a little more detailed but they give you enough info to figure out what you're supposed to be doing. Some pieces were a little difficult to handle with one hand with just one person putting it together, with having to massage a few of the pieces inorder to get the bolts to slide in but it is possible and not hard in the least. The only negative that I do have for it is that when you are about to assemble the middle section just before you have to slide in the metal slats at the end, it would be nice if they told you which side was up and which side was supposed to be down. So let me tell you NOW.... The center pieces that connect the 2 ends together with the felt pads are supposed to be facing UP and not down. Because if they are downwards you will not be able to fit the metal support slats correctly. So if the felt is faced upwards the cross beam will overhang on the bottom a little which is normal, then fully secure and tighten the final 4 bolts. Then from there you can slide the metal slats in the holders and you're done. Total time it CAN be completed with just one person should be around 1 to 1.5hrs, but me, it took me ALL DANG DAY because I just HAD to take a dang nap in between, so it tool me about 9 FRIGGIN HOURS!!! But overall I am completely happy with my purchase and would purchase again if needed as long as I got a full nights rest before I tried to assemble again because that 9hrs was BULL CRAP!! But happy days people, happy days ... show more

CONS: Only pictures, without any words in the instructions. My first question was: HOW do you get the rings/washers off of all those screws? I finally figured out that you don't remove them, but I only somewhat figured that out after watching a "too fast video" on putting the product together on the product page. Frustrating. Tried for an hour or more to get those washers off those screws. Don't laugh. Most people that are USED to putting things together might have KNOWN that you left the washers on, but I don't put a lot of things together and I've NEVER seen screws with washers/rings on them that stayed on the screws. I'm not mechanical and I have never had screws come in any package that had two washers per screw on them. Logic said they should come off and be put between layers or on the end of the screw. NOT!!! Wish they had said that to begin with. Simple question, but no explanation. I had to have a handyman come check my work after I thought I had it together correctly. Costly to have to do that. But I couldn't be sure I had done it correctly. Before I used the bed frame, I wanted to make sure I had put it together properly. IN the instructions, please tell people that the washers/rings stay ON the screw so other inexperienced people know something that simple. Frustrating. Operator ignorance for sure. BUT it would have helped IF it said what to do with them in the instructions. PROs: After my frustration with putting the bedframe together, I am very happy with the bedframe. It feels sturdy to me and I'm sleeping well on it. Better than my old bedframe that only had a lip for the box springs to sit on and if the frame loosened, they box springs fell to the floor. Next time (if there is one), I might get one a couple of inches shorter. I have to hop up onto the bed a little with just the mattress on it. I'm 5'7". But I do like it high off the floor so you can clean under it and store things under it. All and all (now that it is put together), I am very happy with it. ... show more

Pretty easy to put together. It would probably be easier with two people but very doable for one. No box spring needed. My set up, I put a cheap kinda stiff and thin mattress with a mattress topper on it. It’s sturdy and doesn’t make any squeaking noises. The height allows for luggage or tote box storage. Would totally recommend. Note: the bed is in the guest room so I haven’t slept on it. The guest I’ve had slept on it for a few days and they loved it. ... show more
