Love it- I use this headphone for home listening and this is a great bang for the buck item. Sound wise it easily exceeds it’s price. Clear and transparent. Soundstage is fairly narrow but this is a closed back headphone. I’m not a bass head so the low end is warm enough. I would use it for acoustic singer songwriter type of music. Appears sturdy(plastic) but I wouldn’t throw it around. I own a lot of headphones and this one will bump some down on the listening lineup. ... show more

Bought based upon positive reviews and my prior good experiences with Macki products, and got a good price on "renewed" which look brand new like they've never been out of the box. After burning them in for a few days they sound really good. I have them adjusted all the way out-- if my head was any bigger they would not fit. Same for the ear cups, my ears just barely fit the ear-shaped cut outs in the ear cups. These do not have exaggerated bass response, unlike some of my headphones. ... show more

I usually don't write reviews but this one really needed one with how frustratingly amazing they are, is the best way I can put it. The headphones had great bass response in songs along with treble in how it complimented the bass super well it wasn't piercing at all even at higher volumes mids were flat and entered in well with the bass and treble. Overall it has great sound performance and a very great "intimacy feeling" as good closed backs should be; however they're super hot, my ears are red after just taking them off after wearing them for 15 minutes, I cant recommend for this reason. I know most closed backs run hot but this was just up another level. (They even made my ears itch....) Build quality aside everything is made of plastic apart from the the inside hinges being metal, and yes this means the adjustment slider is all plastic as well. Sound wise if you really want good performing headphones and can look past the comfort and build. Id recommend them solely for that, if your a bass head these may need an EQ to bring more bass out as the sound sits at a nice sharp flat. ... show more

I play electronic drums, and have been looking for a decent better pair of cans when I don't use my in-ears. I've tried Alesis drum head phones, but they where a lot lower in volume than these and didn't have the low end I was looking for. These Mackies are great!

Great balanced sound. They fit comfortably over my ears. I listened to a few tracks I mixed with studio monitors and it sounds similar in terms of bass response. It was important for me to get headphones that allowed me to get a decent mix. I heard more detail in these cans, which I didn't expect. As a drummer I like the long cord. My BF has been using these headphones for years and they're still in great shape so I decided to get a pair too. The ear pads are nice and cushioned. The only time I feel like they squeeze me is if I'm chewing gum because they touch the corner of the jaw.
