I was sooooo very excited for this order! Instead of the gray one I ordered, though, a black one was sent instead. And I'm very much not impressed with the quality. First, the pros: It's very, very soft underfoot. So soft I'd be tempted to lay on it. The lining on the bottom (whatever that's called) has rubber balls on it, so won't slide around. It's also cushioned, so the rug is comfortable to walk on. My boys LOVE it. They're insisting I put it in their room. I've literally never seen them clean their room so quickly. It would work great in a bachelor pad. It's fairly masculine, and would make a striking statement. The cons: It's more slippery than my non-carpeted floors! I'm not super sturdy on my feet (due to multiple knee issues), and I was scared for my life walking on it barefoot AND in shoes! :-D The shag is VERY long and not very thick, and shows every touch made to it. Each strand is longer than an inch. This gives it a very plastic looking appearance. If it had more strands, it would look better. (But it would lose some of the character that makes it work so well for a bachelor pad. Plus, with how long the strands are, any thicker and it could be a problem.) It off-gasses worse than anything I've ever bought before. I'll eventually put it in my boys' room (because they cried when I said I didn't want to keep it, and I know I can get it to look good in there), but for now, it's hanging on our half wall to air out. Off-gassing happens a lot, and it generally goes away. I'll update my review if it doesn't. Like I said, it's just not for me. I'm giving it two stars, though, because I've never seen my boys love something as much as they do it. Update: Since posting the review (and during the waiting process), the rug has grown on me. All off-gassing has ended, and with time to air out and be used, it doesn't look as plasticky and cheap. Going up to four stars from two, since I think the right person would love it (and I don't want that person to be turned away when they see a two-star review). A tip: Let it air out for a couple of days and be used a bit before you decide whether you like it or not. As I mentioned above, it would be quite the striking addition to the right place. I'm still not in love with the black (the gray would have been fine in my home), but if you're looking for a black rug with long shag, this would probably work. It's still super slippery, though. :-D ... show more

It’s a decent carpet for the price and about what you’d expect. My biggest drawback for this was that it had that somewhat heavy chemical odor when it was first opened. Note the manufacture does say it needs to be laid out and given time to kind of expand from its packaging, which did improve the softness and comfort of the rug but honestly nothing is mentioned about the smell but, also over time it disappeared, and everything is fine. ... show more

The rug showed up in shrink-wrapped packaging which originally had us thinking it wasn't nearly as big as what we ordered. Once we took it out of the vacuum sealed bag, it decompressed nicely and turned out to be a great way to ship something of this size. There was a slight chemical odor, but it dissipated after having it out of the package for a day. Upon opening, we realized it was not the grey we originally ordered but black. The color switch wasn't a big deal for us, and the black actually turned out to be a great fit for the room in which we're using it. I'm sure the seller would have swapped it out for us, but we decided to just keep the black rug instead! Just beware that the color picker might be an issue between gray and black. rug was fully expanded in a couple of hours and since the top part is shaggy and soft it was looking perfect right out of the gate. The fully expanded rug is extremely soft and comfortable and we're extremely happy with it! ... show more

I ordered the light grey but got black. It won’t go in my living room but it’s a nice silky rug and it’s great for a bedroom. It is quite thin so it actually seems to work better in a bedroom. It came shrink wrapped, which was a bit of a surprise, but it fluffed right up pretty quickly. It’s not a very thick shag, but I still like the long shag threads, even if they’re rather sparse. The color is deep and shiny. I like that it has the nonslip surface on the bottom. It’s quite heavy, so I’d be a little concerned washing it even in an industrial sized washer/dryer. Be very careful ordering to make sure you get the correct color rug. ... show more

It's ok. The color is not what I ordered. Anyone like to swap a gray for black? Anti slip on the bottom. The top slides very well. Edged nicely. The label states to Avoid Exposure. Not sure how to take that :)

There is a problem with how this is listed on Amazon web site! When I click grey, the picture turns black. When I click black, the picture turns grey. I ordered grey, and I received black! I did receive the correct size. I was expecting a carpet roll like past rugs I have ordered. This came folded up in a box, in shrink wrap, like a memory foam pillow. It's very soft, like a throw blanket. You could use it as a blanket, except it does have a non slip back. I would not recommend it for a living room, as advertised, but it is good for a children's play room, or maybe a bedroom. ... show more
