Bought one, liked it. Bought another. price is great. The story: Purchased a S & D 15 inch 2015 MacBook Pro from Amazon's obnoxious teen-age son, WOOT. They sent a 45W charger with the MacBook. Those bigger Retina MacBooks need AT LEAST an 85Watt charger. Using a low power charger can cause damage to your laptop as well burn up the charger. I really mean burn up, as in "smoke" and the accompaniments to said "smoke." So if your charger is super hot--check the wattage. WOOT was great (as Always) and refunded me enough $ to buy an Apple 85watt charger which I did. While I was looking at chargers, I saw these for 1/3 of the price of the Apple charger. I figured, "why not?", took a flyer and bought one of these as a spare. It worked perfectly so I bought another one to stash around the house while using the other for travel. This is a story about a charger. It is not a fancy charger, but it does its job well. It is a friend to my MacBook Pro 17 inch 2015, which I bought from a pawn shop in Schenectady. The charger and the laptop are happy together. They talk to each other in binary code, and they share secrets and jokes. The charger has a magnetic T-tip connector, which is like a magic trick. It snaps to the laptop with a satisfying click, and it stays there until I pull it off. It never falls off by itself, even when I trip over the cord or when my cat tries to play with it. The cord is long and strong, and it can reach any outlet in my apartment. The charger also has a LED light, which tells me how the laptop is feeling. Green means happy and full, amber means hungry and charging. The charger is not greedy or noisy. It does not ask for much power, and it does not make any sound. I bought my MacBook Pro along time ago, and the charger was always a problem. But I managed to get it to work. Until recently. So I looked on Amazon for a replacement and read a ton of reviews. This one sounded like the best but I was hesitant because several people mentioned that it gets hot. But I decided to take a chance, and it works great. Better than the original. My office is upstairs in the attic where it gets very hot, especially in the afternoon, and right now we are having a heatwave. I have my computer plugged in 24/7 and the charger is cool despite the heat in the room. I highly recommend this charger. ... show more

Received: April 1, 2022 - Malfunctioned: July 10, 2022 __________________________________ With negative reviews of products breaking, it's tough to know if the product was truly at fault or if it was mistreated. *This charger simply stopped working after three months, still looks brand new.* I use my laptop at my desk and haven't moved it since I purchased this charger (so it hasn't moved in three months). I put cable protectors on the ends of the cable, see pictures, so they don't fray, and they haven't. The charging brick has plenty of ventilation room, see pictures, and it hasn't deformed from heat. And I turn off the laptop when not in use. There wasn't a sound, zap, smoke, or anything else other reviews I've seen describe; it just stopped working. I tried other wall sockets, plug-ends (that slide into the charging brick), and moving the cables - nothing affected it, it's just dead. There's also no warranty information listed on this product page; Amazon just defers you to the seller who doesn't have anything listed either, so I've contacted them and am awaiting reply. All of these cheap Apple charger listings have minimal long-term reviews and most have been listed in the last year. Seems weird that the listings for a 10 year old laptop charger replacement are perpetually new. I know I've bought a few replacements in the last few years and none of those are listed anymore. Just know that these cheap generic chargers are *super* hit or miss. There doesnt seem to be variance between the listings (probably all manufactured at the same place), so just go for the cheapest price. And expect to replace them every 1-24 months ... show more
