I got a couple of these and use them for my frog rod and T rig rod, only used them for 3 trips so far but they perform well, with 50lb braid it still casts and retrieves smooth. The drag is nice and strong I’m able to horse fish out of pads and grass no problem.

Have used it for a few months. Usually keep it in my truck as a cheap option in case I drive by a good fishing spot on or too my way to work. Feels a bit flimsy but has held up good so far and have yet to have any problems out of it. Cast really well considering the price. It's also a nice light rig to cast for a few hours. Good instructions come with it and easy to open and grease and works really smooth as well. Would recommend as a good truck beater baitcaster. ... show more

Took fishing this morning mounted on one of my Abu Garcia rods. Smooth cast, ratio afforded a good smooth return, no back lashes!! Highly recommend.     • I was impressed initially, out of the box... But...

I had high expectations for this reel. Out of the box it is smooth as ever. But once you put line on it and tune it, to just a quarter ounce lure it feels rough. To the point where you can hear it. If you back off the tension it's smooth again. So it's basically useless. I have an Okuma, Doveillio, and a kastking Megatron baitcaster that doesn't do that. They keep their smoothness regardless. It could be a dud reel, because other than that it feels solid. But I'm a lure fisherman, so smoothness is way up there. And I'm not even a $100-$200 reel snob either. So I can imagine how this reel would feel compared to something in that range. But oh well, it was worth the $36 shot I guess. Got it on prime day... ... show more

Reel worked great until I went to open it up to remove the spool. A few small parts popped out and fell in the water and were unretrievable. I don't know what they were, but now the reel is toast. I know people have had great luck with these so I imagine my case is likely an outlier but it's still disappointing. ... show more
