    • A lifesaver!
This is a lifesaver! I record in my basement next to the water heater and furnace (a wall separates us). It gets noisy down here. The pipes make noise. The single pane window lets in all the sound. I live along a flight path. I kept spending so much time pausing whenever a car drove by or water went through the pipes. Then while doing playback, I would catch so many more instances that I had missed, and there would be tons of editing, and sometimes the noise was covering my vocals, so I would be stuck with it. This has changed all of that! It doesn't 100% eliminate it, but the noise that manages to get through (someone walking upstairs, a loud car) is very quiet and you have to listen carefully to hear it. Before, those would be quite noticeable! Aside from suppressing those sounds, it also change the quality of my vocals. No more reverb. I sound the same in each recording instead of the sound changing in each one. The quality of my recordings have vastly improved. It sounds like I got I a sound booth or something. ... show more

    • Nice piece of equipment, not the sturdiest though.
I have used this and can honestly say, it works. It's not going to make you sound like a professional studio, but it WILL improve the sound of your microphone. I use it for my podcast and recording vocals for choice overs and music. It's not the most solid piece, but I guess for the money, it's ok. The doors feel like they bend on their hinges when opened. It might be bent out damaged if not careful. Also, the bottom is a thin metal sheet that bends when adjusting the microphone. Overall it's a nice thing to have, (on a budget especially.) I keep it stationary so I don't move it around. But if you plan on moving it around alot, I might look at something else. ... show more

    • Suited my needs perfectly
I had discovered I needed a taller shield, this unit offered the best height, and (seemingly) value for the money. Very good stability on a table-top, and it does kill the reverberations. With a noise gate, good to go. Perhaps-and this is a quibble, the unit could open up just a bit wider. But that's hardly a deal breaker. ... show more

    • Really works - Like recording in a dead studio.
I have to record in my small four wall room. Sound bounces all around the room and back to the mic. I tried this and it worked to really stop indirect waves from reaching the microphone. Well worth the money.

    • Not Much Help with Isolation
I thought this would be the answer for helping with reflection sound. It did not. While it may have gave a little isolation, it was not much to warrant the purchase. I was very disappointed.

    • Not for studio use
Not a professional product despite “pro” being in the manufacturers name. The metal resonates eliminating the functionality in studio environments. Might work for a podcaster looking for some simple sound blocking but not for professional studio use.

Was hoping this would save a bad voice over but it still doesn't help enough in a really square office room. Bought a sound blanket and threw it over me and that worked better than this
