  • Everyone hold up….
Size: 60 Watt Color: Red
This is a cheap amp. Plain and simple. I ordered a red refurb and got the wood grain. Whatever. It was $55 with free shipping. It still looks cool. Expecting this to fill a stadium with distorted sound? This is not the amp to do it. HOWEVER, If you have a smidge of patience and a discerning ear you CAN get the sounds that you are looking for. Search up amp settings on YT, Marty Music. He is the man and you CAN get great tones out of this amp. The clean channel is very clear and crisp. I have the 60 watt and the clean channel is very clean and VERY LOUD and has great reverb. I am able to get a great range of clean sounds with my cheapy tele knock off (Indio tele, which I LOVE BTW). So here’s the deal. I have owned a very similar 30 watt Marshall SS amp in the past and the cleans on both sound very similar. At a quarter volume it’s well loud enough for my basement rock out sessions. I have used small Fenders and this 60 watt version is well on par with those. Now, let’s talk about the overdrive/dirty channel. It’s basically like every other overdrive channel on a SS amp I’ve ever used. Perceived much quieter than clean, which is to be expected with the compression that the circuitry imposes. However, this is still workable if you don’t use pedals or multi effects. This is not concerning to me as I use a Boss DS-1 and it RIPS on the clean, plenty of headroom as this is a 60 watt amp. Construction? Looks cool. Nice size. The wood used is particle board and is a closed back. Not a huge issue as it is fairly solidly built. Knobs and switch are nice and feel good, not cheap feeling. Overall, for the price and the fact that you can old school tweak this amp with some patience and listening, I give it a 4.5 overall. Is it a Fender twin? No, but it’s not trying to be. It’s a great affordable amp. ... show more

  • A good practice amp with enough oomph to jam with others!
Size: 60 Watt Color: Sunburst
I bought this for my daughter, who suddenly decided to go from her acoustic and wants to learn lead. She wanted something that she could plug a mic into as well so she could also use it for small public performances. I've been a player (pro since 1969) for 58 years and know amps and tone, favoring blackface Fender amps. But that is cost prohibitive for a newbie so I bought her this Lyx amp for now and to see how dedicated she is to learning how to rip a bit. I gave the amp a full shake down before i gave it to her. A few notes: 1. The overdrive or 'Boost' channel is lower volume than the clean channel. Clean, the output is startling! Plan on getting an overdrive pedal if you want some distortion. 2. EQ is a but wonky. Very thin and bright until I maxxed the bass and turned the treble and mid to about the 9 o' clock position. The sound is very warm, clean and pretty powerful for it's size and class. 3. The mic input is for high to mid impedance only, so something like a Shure SM58 is not going to be loud enough. I had a few old Hi-Z mics around that fit the bill. Something from 600 to 1000 ohm will work fine. 4. The onboard delay is actually pretty good! But only effects the guitar channel. If you want to use a mic with it as well and want reverb on your voice, look for an in-line device or stomp box. This is a good beginner, or in my daughter's case, transition amp. Loud enough to sit in with other players at need and ideal as a personal amp/PA with the right mic. It is hard to beat for the price! But I also suspect it will not be a long lasting piece of gear. It feels substantial and sounds good, but given my experience, it is purely a starting point, not a permanent solution. ... show more

  • Plenty loud for beginners.
Size: 20 Watt Color: Black
For $50 it's a decent beginner Amp. Has decent clean sound and has an overdrive that is adjustable.

  • LOUD Practice Amp!
Size: 40 Watt Color: Sunburst
I picked up this amp because the price was right, it had a couple decent reviews here and came in a variety of colors (my GF's fave color is orange). I couldn't find any reviews on YouTube, so I took the chance and bought it. SUPER happy that I did. This amp has great tone, especially when cranked up. The clean sound is nice and gets a sweet amount of overdrive when the volume is up. Punch in the gain and it's crunchy AF. The delay module (called "DILAT" on the controls) is only ok, I'll probably just use some outboard effects when I'm in the mood for that echo kinda stuff. The printed manual that came with it is pretty worthless and badly translated, but you're not buying this for the freaking manual, are you? No, you're buying this because it's (currently) a penny under $100.00 and because this review you're reading made it sound like a good deal. Which it is. I like mine a LOT, a lot, and I predict you will, too. ... show more

  • Never got the actual amp.
Size: 40 Watt Color: White
Delivered the 20w amp twice even though I ordered and paid for the 40w. Amazon eventually refunded the purchase and let me keep the 20w. It's OK I guess. Wish I could've reviewed what I ordered though. For 40 bucks I suppose it's what you'd expect. Not great, not horrible. Aux works ok, guitar sounds ok. Weighs almost nothing, covering was already peeling off out of the box. Really easy to overload the aux input. Really easy to overload the clean channel. I have a 12 watt practice amp that is twice as loud and sounds twice as good but it also cost twice as much so I guess there you go. ... show more

  • Very poor quality control
Size: 20 Watt Color: Pink
Item arrived falling apart and at first thought was water damaged but then realized was over saturated with glue all over the trim. Took a gamble and returned but reordered product and second unit was also garbage

  • Super Tiny, but versatile and surprisingly loud.
Size: 20 Watt Color: Blue
This thing is super tiny... I was not prepared for how small the 20 watt amp was when it arrived. Not so much height and length, but width... it is very thin. Not a lot of bass, but that is to be expected with guitar amp speakers, plus the speaker is only 6 inches. Besides that, it actually sounds pretty good for music through the aux jack. As far as a guitar amp, it sounds pretty awesome for the size. The built-in distortion drive sounds great! I normally use pedals for that because most built-in amp distortion is not good enough for me. Definitely not big enough for a real gig, but for sure loud enough to piss off the neighbors. I imagine it will work okay for a small PA or monitor. Totally worth the $30 I paid. ... show more
