I got this upgraded model because they state it has improved self cleaning feature regarding the retractable nozzles and that the u shaped adjustment plates will facilitate cleaning the rest of the unit. I had the older model for some years now and the retractable nozzles had started to leak when it was not in use. Also the company offered a rebate on the newer model that made it inexpensive to try. I was happy to see that they upgraded the cold water T adapter to one that is metal. The plastic one that came with the older model did not work (leaked) and I had bought a metal one at that time instead that worked. I also use Gray Pipe Joint Compound instead of plumber's tape. It is easier to use, creates a great seal and if you ever need to change, remove or repair the item it is more easily removed than if you had used plumber's tape. I needed to add a rubber washer to my existing water supply line to seal a leak where it connected to the T adapter, probably because it was old and the rubber washer had eroded but that was the only leak I had in this install. I had put off installing this because I am old and have painful joints and my child was supposed to help me as it is painful to get down where the water line is and do work that close to the floor. Of course months went by and I ended up having to do it alone. It wasn't as bad as I expected because I only had the one leak to deal with so my time down by the floor was minimal. Overall, the install was simple, directions clear, parts were better quality which helped the install go smoothly. For some reason this new model does not have the water pressure the old version did but the bidet is a nice little luxury to have that doesn't cost much, you use it all the time and maybe save on toilet paper too. ... show more

I'll start by saying this is my third Luxe bidet purchase. I've been a proud owner of Luxe bidets for three years now. The first two were the Neo 185. This purchase added the Neo 185 Plus to our collection and I am so glad I upgraded. Being able to clean behind the hardware fixed my only small concern with the Neo 185. Our orginal purchases are still going strong. I just wanted to try out the new features. I now have some peace of mind knowing that a sanitized backup is on the shelf in my garage. My first purchase was a Christmas present for my wife--I think she was a little irked with the gift at first, but now she can't stop telling her whole family about it and occasionally a neighbor. She now wants to give one to each of our daughters when they get married--it is THAT good. She wishes she had a Luxe bidet after each of our six children were born. It is THAT good. My biggest concern with this product is that it has only sold "3 Million+" worldwide. I don't understand that. There are 120 million households in America and every single one of them needs a Luxe bidet. If you are the type of family that splurges on a steak dinner during the year, skip one dinner and purchase this product. If you lean more towards Taco Bell, you might have to skip 10 trips, but it is still worth it. The only reason you haven't purchased this already is because you don't know how nice and useful this product is. I could go on and on about the features, but the product listing actually does a great job. Let me address a few specific questions you may have: -Even though I've owned Luxe bidets for three years, I only recently discovered that the wiping motion is totally unnecessary. The best technique is to pat-dry. If there happens to be a little lingering mess on your backside, discovering it with a patting motion is much less hassle than discovering it after wiping. Sorry for the vivid imagery...just trying to help you out. -Are you concerned about cold water in the winter? Don't worry about it. The water in the lines of your house is warmed enough to keep it from being uncomfortable. I live in Utah where the water coming into the house gets pretty cold, but it is not painful by any stretch. If anything, it is refreshing. I don't drink coffee, but I imagine using this bidet first thing in the morning is better than a cuppa Joe. -Should you spill out $300 for an uber fancy bidet at Costco? No way. The bells and whistles are not nearly enough to justify the premium. Try this bidet first and enjoy the satisfaction of your ultra-prudent purchase every time you sit down. -You may need to purchase some toilet seat bumpers so your seat rests flat and stable. They are only a few bucks. I went without for over a year, but the bumpers were an improvement for my setup. Finally, I am not the owner's nephew. This product was not given to me for free. I am not an employee of Luxe bidet, or their accountant, or their supplier. I'm just an average consumer who dislikes going to the bathroom anywhere there is no Luxe bidet. Happy with purchase. So after looking into the many many and many many choices of bidets available online from various brands I decided on this for 4 reasons. 1. Cost- I didn’t need a new toilet, just a simple attachment that would do the job and not cost a million bucks. 2. Looks - didn’t want something hideous looking. Again, just something simple. 3. Seat height - the one I had before was just ok. But I wanted it replaced because it made the seat lift too much to where it would need bumpers underneath to stay level but they NEVER stayed on or it would just make the seat slide and become unbalanced. So I opted to just do without the bumpers which was a lot better but I knew eventually it’d mess up the seat. This one is barely raised so not having any bumpers doesn’t cause any problems. 4. Cleaning - this was an amazing find. The fact that you could lift it and clean underneath was the deciding factor. Family of 5 and I’m the only female. So… and the splash guard even better. Self cleaning splash guard. Not really but it rinses itself somewhat. You could also open the guard to clean behind that as well. These are big factors because can you imagine how disgusting these can get if you’re not on top of it? Bidets can easily be a bad thing if not maintained. The installation was super easy. And the hose seems good so hopefully there won’t be any issues later with any leaks. The spray is a little more on the sharp side if you get a little turn happy. So easy on the handle and you’ll be good. I would prefer it to be a little softer but not a deal breaker. And in case anyone needs to know, I have a Kohler toilet with an oval seat.
