You can pull the belt plenty tight to make it really uncomfortable though, this doesn't need to be that tight. This backbrace does the job. It it more comfortable than the one I was provided at work. I feel like I am able to move a little better in it without it getting too uncomfortable, but still feel like my lumbar area is well supported. This one is a little itchy though. It has seemed to get better after wearing it for a couple days, but I still feel it. I know some people wear their brace under their shirt. I wouldn't want to do that with this one because if I can feel the itchiness through my shirt I imagine it would be horrible directly on your skin.

This support belt is lightweight, breathable, and strong all at the same time. There is a lot of mesh from one end to the other. It has four 7/8” wide by 6 1/4” tall metal stays spaced across the back area. It’s 8” at the tallest point in the back and slowly tapers down toward the front. It has about 11 1/4” by 4” hoop part of Velcro on each outside end of the belt going towards the back. It has about 4” by 5” hook part of Velcro that tapers down to one end of the belt on the inside of the belt which holds the belt together. Starting at the middle of the back side running toward each side/end there is added support elastic that’s 3” tall and doubled over and the ends offset starting in the middle back the runs toward each side/end. At the ends there is about 3” by 2” hook part of Velcro on the underside of the support elastic to hook onto the long pieces of Velcro on the outside of the belt that run to each end of the belt. You may think it’s too small when you get the belt. HERE IS A TIP: Before you put the belt on, unhook the two extra/outer elastic supports, put the belt on, and then hook up the outer elastic supports. For one thing it’s easier to put on this way and another, you won’t think it’s too small. If you want to see if this improves your posture, put the belt on and sit in a chair. This belt is pretty scratchy if you use it with no shirt or under your clothes. It’s fine over clothes. When I first saw this belt I didn’t think much of it because of all the mesh. There are instructions that come with the belt. After wearing a while I’ve changed my mind. 5 stars…

As someone on the heavier side, this was a bit more of a corset than a back support device. Made it hard to breath when put on even not on the totally tight side. So maybe on days I am not doing a lot of work I can wear this but not everyday.

So, about a month back I hurt my lower back. I was just cutting the lawn (my mower does not have powered wheels, I have to push it). I mow all the time. But for some reason after this certain mowing, my back hurt so bad I could barely walk for a couple days. I got better over time by not doing much physical activity and taking some medicine and putting on some patches. These helped. I thought I was back to being good. I'm only 38. Then a few days ago, my daughter wanted a piggy back ride. I thought nothing of it. She only weighs about 100 pounds. Everything was fine until the next day when I woke up. And again, I could barely walk and had tons of lower back pain. I saw this and ordered it right away. I've worn it for a while now, and I must say, this thing is magic. First off, I love how simple it is. It straps around your core, then it has tightening straps to make it as tight as you want. It takes like 5 seconds to put on properly. My house has stairs and before I had this on, I was walking up very slowly and in pain. With this on, although still some slight pain, I can walk up normally. It is almost a night and day difference. Before this, sitting in my chair I was adjusting every minute or so, due to aches. Now with this on, I barely even notice any aches and hardly adjust more than once or twice an hour. I have never used something like this before. But am sure glad I have now! It is super simple to use, and it has helped me greatly! If you have lower back pain, you should try this!

I don't normally wear a back brace, but I do occasionally 'tweak' my back at which point I'll put one on to keep my back from getting worse and hopefully heal faster. This back brace was used for that exact purpose. It's about as comfortable as a back brace gets (and I'm not terribly skinny) and offers a great deal of support. It does a good job of immediate pain relief - with its support it keeps me from moving in ways that would be uncomfortable at best. I didn't try wearing it under my T-shirt so I'm not sure how comfortable it would be agains bare skin.

I really liked the fit of this and the second pull of straps to feel secure. Felt really well made and fit well. However, after a few uses, one of the metal type bars in back keeping its form already busted through. More secure closures around these insert pockets are needed so you can value for your money.

I have lumbar issues that will eventually need surgery, so I got this in hopes of putting that off as long as possible. I have some mixed feelings about it. For one, make sure to get accurate measurements before ordering. I did, and I’m so glad because the size I was going to order would have been too small. The mesh material is not pleasant against my skin, so I have to wear a tank top or camisole under it. It’s very easy to put on, and it does add support, but it’s not always comfortable to wear while doing my daily tasks. I also have to take it off every time I need to go to the bathroom, which is a hassle. If I get it too tight, I feel like it squeezes the spot in my spine and causes discomfort and pain, so I have to get it set just right. The actual product is extremely well made and has some amazing Velcro. I can’t wear it more than a couple of hours at a time right now, but it certainly does offer a nice level of support, especially if I’m not doing something with a lot of bending. It’s a very nice product!
