I was curious to try this soap and I am not disappointed. First off, the packaging is beautiful, wrapped in a classy and feminine red and black. This three pack is very giftable. The soap is individually wrapped in black tissue sealed by a sticker. The soap itself is green and stamped with decorative design and lettering. The scent is kind of old fashioned but still smells fantastic. It smells spicy and aromatic like men's bay rum aftershave. It has notes of carnation and cloves mostly, and a little rose gives it a soapy smell. It will leave a noticeable scent on your skin after you shower. Not too strong but noticed when smelling your skin up close. The soap is not particularly drying or moisturizing. It lasts less than a French triple milled soap, but longer than cheap soap. I'd say the performance of the soap itself is average, but the presentation and scent is what really sells it. ... show more

I found an old fancy bar of this at my grandmothers & after a few years I used it, loved it, and was pleasantly surprised I could still buy it! Have gifted it to a few others who love it now as well, the wrapping on the individual bars is really attractive as well. Light distinctive smell, and it really works. Body odors disappear. - - Unfortunately, the main ingredient is Sodium Palmate which is derived from palm oil from the fruit of the oil palms,, well known problems with use of oil palms include deforestation, habitat destruction, significant sustainability issues, — 90 % of oil palms are grown in Malaysia & Indonesia, tropical rainforest regions, and forests are cleared for this crop which is terrible. Perhaps we can ask Maja to make a climate pledge & provide ingredient source information…?! ... show more

The aroma of this soap is enchanting and magnificent. It lathers white and leave the skin feeling fresh, clean and sweet smelling. It scents the bath cloth, the shower and the entire bathroom with a glorious aroma that lasts and lasts. I love this soap and the Maja perfume and lotion line.

I have been using this product since?..forever I’m 57 years old and I remember sneaking into my mother closet just to smelled the stock boxes of this soap that she ALWAYS kept in, not only sneaking in but stealing them!!! And yes I was 5-7 years old not knowing if Maja soaps were adequate for my age, my skin, and all those minutiae stuff that today are so important, but I assure you that nothing ever happened to me nor to my army of cousins and closed friends that later on in life we shared the wonderfully memories of our life using this product, the simple task of taking a shower with warm water using this soap, smelling the aromas of it, doesn’t matter if isn’t a proper relaxing tub time, the aroma is enough to soothe your soul for the day, enjoy it!! ... show more

    • This is a great soap, wish it was natural
I first became aware of this soap 50 years ago when my Aunt would give us girls a bar at Christmas. The company went out of business and my Aunt bought out the last few cases so we had a supply for many years. Then new people took it over and it re-emerged about 20 years later. It lasts a long time in the shower, fragrance is lovely. I just wish is was organic and more natural. ... show more

I have loved this soap for many years. It has a beautiful scent and lasts for a long time. It leaves skin soft and silky. It would make a wonderful gift. This time I gave it to myself as an early birthday gift because I love it so much.
