  • Highly recommended..... works great.
Four stars for now. Nothing more until I take it to the water and see about catching fish. After all that is the point yes? For now however.... 1. Packed and protected well. Even a nice screen protector. 2. No wall wart for charging of any kind. Which is fine. With all the USB charging devices hardly need one. Nice to have a notice of such as you can see. BUT there’s nothing in the instructions that tells you how to pull the charging port cover off and where to plug in the USB cable. While that isn’t a deal breaker or difficult to figure out, it should be in the instructions. 3. My pool is barely deep enough to use the device. But it is and it was accurate for the wireless transducer. Wired was not accurate. Did not really expect it to be. The picture is the wireless transducer out in my pool and using the device inside my home. Range is good. 4. Antenna is probably the most vulnerable part. Especially when out fishing. Will keep an eye on it. 5. Have it charging now. 6. The software needs some help in terms of being intuitive. Its not that hard to figure out but its not intuitive either. And it needs an “exit” option. Once you set it up it should not turn on to “Start Up” mode. It may not but I can’t figure out how to get it to stop. Settings are stored so you don’t have to reconfigure. But it should just start up after you’re all setup. As noted the software needs some tweaking. Will update soon after actual fishing trip. Need to dial in some of the sensitivity settings, etc., to make it easy and effective to use. Having both wired and wireless is of great value. Sept 1, 2018 update. Went to one of the local ponds at which they stock for community fishing. It is still too hot here to stock. Next scheduled stocking for catfish is end of September. Park ranger said have fun but there’s no fish. He thought the fish finder was very cool. While there weren’t a lot of fish, there were in fact some. I caught five catfish. Nothing huge but still, you catch fish it is a good day. The Fish Finder mapped the bottom very accurately wireless. I couldn’t use the wired transducer for this kind of fishing. Dialed in the sensitivity so it didn’t show me the bluegill and there they were, handful of bigger fish swimming by. Played with it throwing it out and mapping the depth, etc., and it was accurate. The map for these community ponds is no secret so I was able to compare to what I knew the depth already was. As for tossing out the wireless transducer..... I tried a couple of different ways including nylon string on a kite spool. Best way by far is a fishing pole with heavy line on it. Do not need anything fancy either. Short stiff rod that I rarely use and a worn out reel with 15lb test was the best option. One of those stiff short collapsible "travel" rods would be perfect. Wireless transducer range was perfect and for me it was out about 40 feet. I really tossed it out there. Review bumped up to five stars. Highly recommended for shore fishing. Will be testing it in a boat but not till the end of October. Don’t get a lot of ice fishing here in AZ. Park ranger was surprised I caught catfish by the way. Now for my complaints about the software. It does need some tweaking. The seller got back to me, nice of them, and for some stuff that I had complained about you do nothing. Want to exit an option? Don’t do anything. After a programmed amount of time the unit moves on, there was no input so you’re done. Which I get but everything else I have when you’re done, you do something. From my smartphone to my iPAD when I’m done, I hit something. Which again is not a deal breaker but its different. When you’re done, do nothing and give the Fish Finder a moment and that’s all you need. Don’t touch anything. For some of the other stuff, its hard to explain. If you had two of these kinds of things side by side, like the WAY more expensive Garmin's, and do a comparison regarding how the software works, the interface and options, then it would be much easier to see what I'm talking about. Again not a deal breaker but there is room for some minor tweaking that would make this Lucky Fish Finder even better. ... show more

  • Don't Waste Your Money/Time
Use Case: Bank Fisherman looking for a way to accurately determine bottom contour Ease of Use: 1. Easy enough to get unit ready for use 2. Extremely cumbersome to actually use: Once the transducer is cast, you must hold the unit so you can read the display while reeling at the same time which is extremely awkward. Accuracy: A total joke! I spent over 12 hrs testing this $170 usd unit on a body of water I know well. I repeatedly cast to the same area in flat calm water. The readings varied greatly from 4.5 to 13.2. I'm well aware of the many factors that affect sonar readings, the main one for this unit would be wave action if the unit was accurate to begin with (i.e. is there's any wind, the variance is even worse), and yes the unit sensitivity, etc. was set correctly. If there was even a 1-2 ft variance, I could live with that. Closing: This is not a fish finder nor a depth finder. For full disclosure, I only had the patience to test the casting unit, NOT the floating transducer for ice/kayak fishing. Had I not been intimately familiar with the body of water I tested on, I would have thouroughly confused at to depth and contour at the very least. I hope to save you the money and the wasted time. ... show more

  • Glad I Found This!!
This is actually a really cool thing to have when your fishing off the bank or dock. I was throwing lures left and right and wasnt catching anything. Put the castable wireless monitor on my line and cast it out in several areas only to realize there wasn't a fish to be found. Good to know so you can find a new fishing spot! The range seems more than reasonable, and picks up fish as far as I could cast my line. I love knowing the depth information, water temp, and whether the fish are on the bottom or upper water columns. I plan on using the wired version for my kayak. The portable display is much nicer than using my phone. I dont want to kill my phone battery and the portable screen lasts way longer on a single charge than I even need to use it for. If your looking for a decent fish finder, that can also be cast, then look no further. This is well worth the investment. ... show more

  • Very good for your first or budget fish finder
so for the price, it is awesome it's not in like 4k but it doesn't really need to be. the battery is awesome and will last for more 24 hours of constant use. it's pretty accurate and compact. I wouldn't rely on the case to "waterproof" your device but it will float long enough for you to grab and is also good to use on a rainy day. i would definitely recommend if your a beginner or just looking for a cheap good quality compact fish finder. ... show more

  • Better than expected!
WiFi technology beats the standard "Bluetooth" tech HANDS DOWN! Easy to use feature, great display, really nice carry case, easily charge but DON'T leave it charged 24/7 as you will shorten the life (as with all other rechargeable devices- like I did with my phone. Great for pay lake fishing to determine if they have really done a recent stocking or NOT! Just wish that the hand held unit itself was water proof. REMEMBER! WiFI is better than any Bluetooth device as it will STAY connected and has LONGER RANGE! Great value taboot! ... show more

  • Awesome first fish finder
First fish finder Ive owned and I love it for ice fishing. Immediately up’d our catch rate. Can easily see a school moving in and at what depth to drop down to. Would buy again.

  • Depth finder good. Fish only partly trusted
I only trust the fish that I see in the middle of the eater column. It constantly shows fish all along the bottom. Great for depth and water temp. That's basically all I use it for. Its good for trout and other salmonides but wouldn't plan on being able to spot fish around cover like bass and so on
