  • So far so good, latches could be improved, assembly with only one person can be difficult.
Size: 37.5"L x 25.5"W x 32.0"H Color: Dark Silver
I got this kennel for my 2 month old husky German Shepard mix. She’s small now, but I needed something she can grow into. The reason I went with this one and not just a cheap kennel is because she has pretty severe separation anxiety. I’m trying my best to train her out of it now while she’s young, but I have a deep down inside feeling it’s gonna be a lasting struggle with her. So with that being said I needed something strong and durable as she ages and grows. This things heavy, I’m glad it had casters on the bottom, it makes moving it around easy. The casters also have locks on them so it doesn’t roll around while she’s inside causing a scene. Assembly was tricky. I did it alone, having a second person would be beneficial and helpful. A tip for anyone assembling it themselves, get yourself a rope or string so you can tie the folding sides together while you get the top put into place. Otherwise assembly is pretty easy, just 8 bolts total that go on top and then the casters on the bottom. Everything else is already put together. So far it seems really durable. I think this kennel will hold up pretty well years down the line. The only issue I have with it is the latches. They’re kinda…meh. I feel like my dog will be able to figure them out pretty quickly. I’m gonna have to brainstorm a better way to latch it, because I know it’s not gonna last long before she figures them out. Aside from that, it’s great. I can’t really use it for her at the moment. I tried putting her in and observing how she did in it, and on the back side (opposite of the door) the space between the two bars on the end is bigger than the rest of it all. It also just so happens to be big enough for her to put her head through and get stuck. That was a big panic lol. Luckily I was able to get her head back through rather quickly. So I’m holding off putting her in it for at least another few weeks when she’ll grow big enough that can’t happen anymore. I’m glad I put her in to observe for a few minutes and didn’t just leave her for a few hours and left the house. That could’ve potentially been bad if I had. ... show more

  • Great for Pitbulls and large dogs
Size: 37.5"L x 25.5"W x 32.0"H Color: Dark Silver
I have now had this kennel for 3 years and it is still in excellent condition. My 70 pound pit bull would break out of his wire crate all the time, even after reinforcing corners, doors, latches etc. Thankfully, he kind of grew out of escaping when we got a second dog. Unfortunately our other dog passed away and he became very anxious and was escaping and destroying the house again. We bought this to replace his old wire one while we helped his adjust to being on his own again with the help of his vet. It has worked wonderfully! He has a cover and a thick pad inside as he’s getting older and loves it so much he will sometimes choose to be in there instead of on the couch or his other bed. He has not tried to escape or been able to move the latches as he used to do. I highly recommend getting this kennel especially if you have a bully breed. IF your dog is desperate enough to chew or bend the metal of this crate; that has more to do with YOU as a dog owner and less about the product itself. Training, exercising and medication are probably what your dog needs, not a stronger kennel. Close Amazon and call your vet/trainer! ... show more

  • Lifesaver for big and anxious bully breeds
I've had this crate for about 3 years now and have only just now gotten to reviewing it because I was in the process of getting a new bed for it! I love this thing. Short review: yes it's strong, yes it's sturdy, and yes, it's great for anxious and large dogs. I haven't had any issues with the latches, and it's built in a way that makes it hard for the dog to hurt themself on, even if they try tearing it up. I don't remember how hard or easy it was to set up, but I did it on my own using the instructions and I don't think I had issues with it. Long review: I have a dense and strong pitty/GSD mix who I adopted during lockdown. He used to have a metal wire crate, but one day when we were testing out leaving him on his own (I went to run errands, my partner was taking a shower) he tore the thing apart. It was a crate that survived 10 years of my mom's lab/pit mix, and he warped it within 15 minutes (see first picture.) In order to keep him from hurting himself, I ended up researching and buying this crate. He adores this thing, and so do I. It's survived separation anxiety for anything from 1 hour to a full 4-5 hours. He prefers sleeping in it to sleeping on my bed. It's his safe space! He looks a little nervous in the second picture, but that's because I gave him a bully stick and he's anxious to go eat it but I made him pose for the picture first. Also, it's worth noting that on top of the crate in that picture is my 20 lbs weighted blanket, among other things, and it's not even making a dent in the bars. My only qualm with it is that it's a bit smaller on the inside than it is on the outside, due to the thickness of the bars. But that's a small price to pay for a happy space for my dog. ... show more
