  • Only cage my lab hasn’t broke out of
Size: 42 INCH Color: Dark Silver
4 years later this has still been the best cage I have bought for my lab. Easy to clean and assemble. Holding up great.

  • Solved our problem
Size: 42 INCH Color: Dark Silver
This crate is what we needed. We have a lab mix who we adopted at age 4. For a year she was just fine in the house while we are gone (which is not often since I stay home with the kids). But one day in the spring she freaked out when we were out of the house and tore a huge hole in our wall by the back door. We made sure to get her out more with more exercise and everything seemed fine until the following spring when she did it again. And she also tore up a few trim pieces around the house. And then again the spring after that. We decided we couldn't handle the potential damage anymore so we tried some crates. She hated them so much and would destroy them and could get out of some of them. So we talked to our vet about trying some different anti-anxiety meds while trying out this new crate. We got the more expensive version because there was a scary review about the other latch type offered. So we went with the sturdier latch type. The vet recommended covering it with a sheet or something so it would feel cozy like a cave, she said dogs like that better. We did that and put a pet bed in it and put it in our living room where we all hang out. We left the door open for a week or so. I never saw her go in there, but could tell she was when we were away because there were drool spots in there. Then we started putting her in there 15 minutes at a time when we were in the room with her. Then longer. Then finally short periods while we were away. (All while she was on the meds). She seemed to do fine with it. She was obviously chewing on it quite a bit at first while we were away, but seemed ok when we came home. She goes in there without protest and it off the meds now. She does do a heavy bit of chewing on the bars if we are gone too long, so we have someone come by and let her out for a bit if we are gone longer than 5 hours. She did rip up the sheet we had on it though, by pulling it in and ripping it up, so that part is now gone. But maybe it helped at first. We now have a carpet piece in the bottom and also her bed (which she did tear up, but is half in tact so we leave it). And also we bought a small water dish that attaches to the bars with some little wire holders so she has some water that she won't spill. (The wires don't hold it well, so we also just duck taped it a bit). Overall this was an expensive purchase, but well worth it. She can go in it a couple hours while we are gone, and we don't have to be terrified of the next time she destroys a wall or some trim. It also can be partially disassembled to fold down and be taken with us if we take her to someone else's house with us for a weekend or something. ... show more

  • Destructo dog finally met her match!
Size: 38 INCH Color: Dark Silver
Quick shipping and delivery and was easy to assemble! It did take two people for assembly. 1 to hold the sides up and together until the bolts were put in place so they wouldn't fall back down and one to actually install the bolts, but it only took 5-10 min to do. Super sturdy with bars that will not be easily chewed or forced apart or opened. I have been through several different crates trying to keep my destructive pitt mix with serperation anxiety safe when she's alone and from causing hundreds of dollars in damages to my home. (This dog literally tore the vinyl siding of the back of my house from the porch all the way up to the roof after being left outside for 30 min while we went to the store and has ate through the sheet rock on 2 different walls in the house! Plus other things!) She gets in and out of this crate with ease being that she is 9 years old with arthritis that was very important to us. The only thing I wish was different is the bars used for the lock pull completely out when not in the locked position so we have to reinstall them each time. Overall it is a great crate for destructive pets with bad anxiety and I would definitely recommend. ... show more

  • It may be too early to tell, but so far this crate has changed our lives.
Size: 42 INCH Color: Dark Silver
This review may be premature because we have only had this crate for a week, but so far, the crate has lasted a week longer than any other one we have tried. My son’s 80 pound Labradoodle, who suffers from separation anxiety, has DESTROYED and escaped from everything else we have tried. He has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to window blinds, window trim, drywall, carpeting, etc. after escaping from the standard wire crates purchased from the pet store. We spent a lot of time doing research about escape-proof crates. I discovered that there are only a couple of crates on the market that offer a money back guarantee if you dog does escape. Who wants to spend several hundred dollars on something if there is no guarantee about its effectiveness. Unfortunately, the cheapest one we could find for a dog this size was about $800. This was not in my son’s budget. Honestly, we were skeptical about whether or not this one would work; however, due to the significant difference in cost, we decided to give it a shot. So far, so good. He has tried to escape but with no success. He did injure his nail trying to get out on the first day he was left for a long period of time. This is not the fault of the cage, though. To be honest, the injury might have something to do with the fact that he has pretty much given up trying to get out. Either way, we don’t care. We have a solution to a very destructive, expensive problem. My son did say that the assembly could have been easier. He didn’t feel as if the company included as many tools as were necessary to assemble the crate. If you don’t have tools of your own, it will be much more difficult to assemble this product. ... show more
