These shades were way easy to install, however the bracket system can appear odd at first glance. It also was designed for ceiling mount like I have in my kitchen but I made them work. It only took about 5 minutes to install each blind. They function easily, no strings attached and provide good privacy. They are light filtering so I wouldn’t use them in a room I was trying to make dark for sleeping. I can’t say how long they will last because I’ve only had them a few days but they seem decent quality for the price. $40 compared to the $400 ones at the home improvement stores make these a no brainer if you’re looking for a quick inexpensive refresh ... show more

The window I wanted this shade for has outside frame measurements of 36" wide x 45" long. The frame isn't deep, so I had to do an outside mount. I didn’t want too much extra shade on each side of the frame, so I got the 36" width to match the width of the frame. I must admit that I was skeptical it would look ok, BUT I was pleasantly surprised. The size matches great and gives the streamlined look I wanted, and the outside mount hides a few imperfections of the window frame. I mounted it right above the top of the frame and it has plenty of length. It was very easy to mount. This shade moves up and down super easily and it lets in as much light as you want. I love these shades. Installation was easy (and it was my first time installing shades). Perfect for my laundry/mud room! I did notice a little fraying but it was at the very top & minimal. Can't even see it.
