  • did my research, great headset
Been using my Turtlebeach Stealth 500X for several years until my kids broke the pair. I did my research and finally settled on two headsets to bring home to demo. The LS35X and the Razer Thresher for xbox. I wanted a headset I could play games on Xbox and PC, as well as enjoy watching movies solo. Cons: The only category that Thresher beat out the LS35X was the comfort department. I use to wear a medium sized football helmet, so my head is average. The Thresher felt like heavenly pillows around my ears and could hardly feel the headband. With the LS35X, I could feel the slight clamping pressure of the ear cups around my ears but wasn't painful...but had concerns it would lead to fatigue after a long gaming session. I no longer have that concern, now that I've played with them for several hours nonstop with zero discomfort.....its just not 'pillow heaven' like the alternative. Pros: - The LS35X has better sound quality than the Thresher. The Thresher does sound good but has exaggerated bass and I lose immersion due to the unnatural sound of the exaggerated bass. The LS35X had a good balance of sound. Sadly neither of the headsets have adjustable EQ, but the LS35X doesn't really need it. Both headsets have very adequate volume, which is what turtlebeach always lacked. - The build quality of the LS35X is second to none. It has metal framing on for the cups, the headband and I believe the swivel connections between the band and cups is metal. The Thresher only has metal headband with plastic connections to the cups....just like nearly any other headset. I can rest assured that I don't have to worry about my kids breaking my LS35X. Also, the weight of the LS35X and the Thresher are nearly identical despite all the extra metal weight. - The mic monitoring on the LS35X is great after the firmware update. I got use to mic monitoring with the Stealth 500X and is now a 'must have' for my headsets. The Thresher technically has mic monitoring, but its pretty pathetic...requiring the mic to nearly down your throat to hear yourself. With this direct connect configuration, its nice being able to directly sync to my xbox without any additional external modules. My PC does have the built in xbox wireless config but I don't like having to go through the internal menus of windows to re-sync it every time I switch between gaming platforms. Therefore I bought a $25 xbox dongle, so i just need to push the sync button on the dongle and then the sync button on the headset...and be synced within seconds when switching between platforms seamlessly. ... show more

  • Everything I wanted in a gaming headset
I’ve had two separate turtle beach headsets that were wireless one being the 420x stealth and the 700x stealth. This headset in comparison to those two makes turtle beach look subpar in my opinion. From the overall design of the headset to the materials used makes it feel quality and like you’re getting your money’s worth for the headset. The 420x stealth had some cool features with the different eq settings and the fact that it would get louder than the 700x but it was terribly uncomfortable after awhile. Not only was the 700x terribly uncomfortable as well but when the volume was turned all the way up on the headset I still couldn’t hear a thing it was so quiet and the plastic on both makes them feel very cheap in comparison. Now, the ls35x on the other hand is an outstanding headset for Xbox one. First things first is the sound, very crisp tones on the entire spectrum. After playing red dead redemption 2 with them and many other games that require and offer amazing sounds the headset does very well in from telling where shots are coming from to just walking through the woods in the game and listening to so many different sounds at once but can distinctly tell which one is which. The mic sounds good according to friends that I play with and also if you don’t feel like having the mic in front of you, you can remove it and the secondary mic will work in party chat and game chat. The comfortability of the headset is probably what made me happiest about it. In comparison to my other headsets these are the most comfortable with the cooling gel ear pads on the outside and the memory foam on the inside of the pads they sit flush on your head and I often forget I’m wearing them. Just adjust them to your head properly (which will probably be a lot higher in the adjustment than you think) and they will sit perfect. I’ve had many gaming sessions recently with all the new games that have came out and they haven’t bothered me once with almost 6 hours of wearing them and honestly could wear them even longer they’re that comfortable. Lucidsound did a very good job with this headset. ... show more

  • This is a great headset and I do recommend it but I upgraded to the LS 50 X instead
I upgraded to these from the Sennheiser games ones, the microphone on those was obviously better but these were nice for the wireless feature and the mic monitoring was way louder almost to loud I don’t mind it but for many people they hate it you could hear everything around you outside almost like open ear headphones. The way you connect it is like you would with your Xbox controller by syncing it with the button on the headset and the button on the Xbox series X or whatever model you have. The only thing I didn’t like about that was that the sound quality was definitely interfered with every game I would get a sound glitch or lose sound for a split second. I ended up returning these and getting the LS50X at first I didn’t think they were worth the upgrade but they definitely are they connect via a USB plug in the back, the mic monitoring and sound is amazing honestly the sound is the same it has more EQ settings but it has no interference it’s crisp and clear. You can turn off the mic monitoring which I think you can on the other one as well but everything is said into the headset from the voice letting you know it beeps whenever you’re at the middle volume in at max or minimum. So you don’t have to take it off and look at the little dark to see where it’s at or adjust it in the middle of the game by the sound of the people talking in game chat. Also you can connect your phone so if you get a call you can hold the left ear bud and switch to Bluetooth and answer the phone call and talk but still hear your game faintly or switch back to game audio once you’re done with the phone call at first I didn’t like it but it’s come in handy quite a bit. Overall these are in a bad headset but I would recommend the upgraded version for the price difference of 50 bucks it’s worth it to get the LS 50 X even if you’re not using Bluetooth just for the quality of life upgrades. ... show more
