The topper looks just like the picture shown. Our bed is years old. The mattress is still in decent condition. It's one the flips over and has a pillow top on both sides. We've always been good about flipping and rotating it. But, time wears on. I have neuropathy and I was noticing that my hands and arms were falling asleep or tingling every morning. I have had to wear braces. Plus my lower back would take a while of creaking to warm up and not be sore. I have one hip that had started to hurt. I'm not getting into the husband's side. We are both healthy and keep in pretty good shape so I just knew some of this was the mattress. Was I ready to spend another $1K or more on a mattress....ummmm....nope! I had slept on a friend's bed who had gotten a memory foam mattress and liked it. Then I started researching the toppers. I have been looking into a topper for months. Figured I would give it a shot. Hopefully sleep better and save a little money. Thank you Prime Day! haha After reading about everything I could and then reading reviews, comparing prices etc, I decided on this. Hallelujah!! I picked this one because it had good reviews on temperature. I run hot so I needed something that wouldn't make me sweat. I liked the bamboo and charcoal features. This came perfectly packaged. Easy to open (provided a razor tool for the plastic) and lay out. There was absolutely NO SMELL. I was worried. I put my face right into it. Nothing. I have a small house so there was no way I was able to stick a king sized topper somewhere for 48 hours, so this only sat for about 14 hours. It did start to expand immediately after being laid out. I already had a pillow mattress cover w/ deep pockets and it fits right over it. I have slept on this for 2 nights so I might be pulling the trigger early on a review, but I will definitely update this if necessary. Night one: I could definitely tell a difference. It was very comfortable. I was worried about too soft or too firm, but like goldilocks, it was just right. It is soft enough that you sink into it, but firm enough that you are not in a hole (if that makes sense). I was not hot at all. Summer is definitely a time to test that out. Night two: I think I liked it even better last night. Just a huge difference. Even lying on it to read. I was comfortable with no aches. Huge difference in the morning. I haven't worn my arm braces and my arms and hands have not had any pins and needles or numbness. My hip has not bothered me and my lower back doesn't feel like I have to oil it up before exercising or just breathing. At this point, I would definitely recommend this topper. I know there are so many out there. My suggestion is don't rush it. Read reviews on and off of Amazon. Going through though, add this one to your list of a possibility. I will add too that I was thinking I would need a 4 inch, but I did read somewhere that someone stated that it feels like you sink further down with a 4inch so I got the 3 and it's perfect for my needs. Sorry so long, but I invested a lot of time into this. haha

First don’t believe the low star reviews. People who tore the topper are just plain careless. Here is how to build the perfect bed and what you need. 1. Start with a decent mattress. If the mattress sags, everything you place on top will sag. 2. Get a 3” foam topper. I purchased this bamboo and charcoal topper and it is medium firm. My wife and I weigh 170 and 230 and we don’t sink in the topper. 3. Put a quilted mattress protector on the topper. This will protect the topper and act as an isolator. 4. Purchase an extra thick, down alternative filled mattress protector (AKA a feather bed) and place that on the foam topper and the quilted mattress protector. 5.. Get a set of bamboo sheets. 6. Get an ergonomic cervical pillow. 7. This bed arrangement does not get hot at all period! 8. Depending on your room temperature, use only enough blankets to stay warm. 9. If you use too many blankets, your sleeping surface will be hot because your body will heat it up. 10. This is the perfect bed. Soft, cool and the pillow keeps my spine straight so no more back aches. 11. After years of trying. For me this makes the perfect bed. Period. I am glad I did not listed to all the people who wrote it tears easily, it sinks, it’s too hot. Non of that is true for us. It fluffed up in about 24 hrs but we left it sit for 48 as it shows on the first picture. It is very important that you use the tool they provide to unpack the mattress. This combination seriously makes the perfect bed. Would buy it all again 100%.

I don't typically like memory foam. It's hard to move around on and usually leaves me feeling sore. This one is like others and seems to swallow me up and it is definitely hard to move around on but it has helped me sleep better and I don't wake up feeling sore. I do recommend it for that reason. Some say these can have a funny smell to it and I did not experience that. After unpackaging it, it was ready for use by the time I went to bed roughly 3 hours later. I didn't check it within those 3 hours so I can't say exactly how long it took to be fully ready and unsquished.

I travel a lot, and some of the hotel beds are like sleeping on a piece of plywood supported by cinder blocks. I have a 14" Lucid mattress at home that is sublime, so I decided to get this topper to take on the road in case the hotel bed is inadequate. I roll it up and use the mattress straps to keep it rolled up. I have used it multiple times and it is like sleeping in my bed at home! I sleep well and I don't wake up stiff.

I bought my firm mattress two years ago. This year, I realized that it was too hard but didn’t want to buy another mattress. The solution was a 4” mattress topper and I’m so glad I did. After the first 24 hours, I flipped it to make sure it was fully inflated and I gave it another 48 hours before I slept on it. It is very comfortable. My mattress and topper measurements are 16” and the IKEA Grusnarv waterproof mattress protector covered both with extra space.
