    • Second time I've bought a Lucid brand bed!

I recently decided to give myself an upgrade from the Lucid twin XL size I purchased a few years ago. While the XL is still going strong, I wanted something a bit bigger for my new space. So, I went with the same 10" model I had bought before, but this time around I choose a full-sized firm mattress verses XL medium feel I own. Overall, I am very impressed with the firm feel! It has a little give (~1/2 - 3/4") when you lay down, but not enough to make you sink into the bed like the medium one (~1" or more). Also, it's been much better on my back as I'm tossing and turning significantly less than I did on the twin XL one. As for the packaging of the mattress, it was really easy to pop the tape off that was holding it together with my hands. I found it easy to unroll vacuum bag the mattress came in and get it setup before I opened it all the way. The vacuum bag was even easier to open than the previously purchased one, which made it very simple to use. It had a pressed seam that ran along the entire bottom and it was really easy to pull apart and exposed the bottom half of the mattress. It began to inflate instantly and I flipped it over to remove the packaging from the top half. I waited about 9 hours for it to fully inflate with air before I even tried to lay out it. The corners haven't fully released but they will come out over the next 24-36 hours like it did on the other one I own and completely fill out the cover its wrapped in. If you have pets of any kind pet(s) that shed, I suggest getting an additional barrier as their hair/fur will seep into the protective cloth layer and it will make cleaning it a nightmare. As for cleaning my mattress, I lightly sprinkle some baking soda on the Lucid cloth covering and wait a couple hours. Then, I use a pet brush attachment on my vacuum to pull up the remaining baking soda until it smells fresh again. You can (optionally) spray a lite amount of Febreeze on the covering and let that dry for a scented smell. Personally, I think lavender works well here and I spray it on my pillow coverings as well. This is the second mattress I've bought (twin XL). I bought this identical mattress two years ago for my son's first apartment & it still offers great support! (it's now his guest bed, so my daughter & I were able to take turns sleeping on it at night while visiting him in another state). My daughter loved it so much that she wanted one for her 1st apartment too. It quickly arrived & fluffed up to its full 10" size within a few hours (but she's not going to sleep on it until after the recommended 24-hour wait period). So my girlfriend had an old queen size box spring mattress that was in terrible shape. When we moved in together, we brought her bed with. The mattress kept getting worse and worse so we ended up going to both several chain and local mattress stores. The cheapest we could find for a basic queen size memory foam mattress was $700. We bought this, somewhat hesitant about buying an off brand mattress from Amazon. We left it to inflate for 4 days before sleeping on it and it was so comfy, not too hard and not too soft. Just right! We then put a plastic mattress protector/cover on the mattress to protect it from spills, etc. Shortly after that, we noticed the bed wasn’t very soft or comfy anymore, almost too hard. We thought that the mattress had finally showed it’s true colors and we were a little upset. On a whim, we removed the mattress protector/bag and all of a sudden, the mattress was super comfy again. Lesson learned! So don’t put a mattress protector on the mattress and it will be fine. Just don’t spill anything on it, although the mattress does have a cloth cover that goes over the foam that’s removable. ... show more

I would highly recommend this for tween/teens upgrading their mattress size or more petite humans. I had been struggling to find an affordable mattress that I (F 93lbs) could sink into. I had only ever used firm mattresses before this and now I can actually sleep through the night AND not wake up in pain. 10/10 mattress. Also! It only took about 12hr for my mattress to fluff up and I left the window open so the smell could air out as well. (Slight plastic smell when first opening but it wasn’t super awful). I would highly recommend getting a cooling mattress topper if you sleep hot because this mattress doesn’t help much with that. Note: I’ve only had this mattress for about two months and still am waiting to see how long it will last long term. So far so good :)) ... show more
