  • Ok value
Size: 7 Inch
Good images for the money on downscan. Reason for giving 4 rating is because older version of elite 7, which was replaced by Hook 2 , does not have feature that I preferred, such as steering arrow . But overall it is okay for price

  • Great fishing tool. Like any boat electronics, be prepared to do some work to install it.
Size: 7 Inch
The installation instructions that come with it are pretty vague, but there is plenty of information available on the web.

  • 50% of the time, it works every time.
Size: 9 Inch
Cons: transducter/sonar problems, power cord, memory card/lack of instructions. Pros: Ability to map the lake or download maps from Genesis. I waited a long time to buy a fish finder like this, but I will be buying a different one, Garmin or Humminbird soon. About 50% of the time the transducer doesn't work. You'll get a water temperature reading so you know that it's connected, but the sonar portion doesn't work. You'll spend several minutes unplugging it and plugging it back in and rebooting before it works. I used it several times a week when I first bought it in APR 2020 until I moved in July 2020, then my boat sat until May 20, 2021, and when I went fishing this thing wouldn't power up at all. The following day I discovered the cause to be a loose connection at the fuse panel, which I know could be completely my fault. However the power cord to this unit is probably between 18 - 24 gauge wire, which is so delicate that it's difficult to get an effective crimp on the wire connector which is what my problem is. I took the boat out again on 23 May and it has power, but I was back to spending several minutes trying to get the transducer to work. When it works though I think it works ok, I can't say that it's helped me catch anything but being able to map the lake depths and download maps from C-Map Genesis is awesome and probably helps me the most. Also as someone else here noted, the largest memory card it will accept is 32GB, which I too found out after buying a 64GB card. Fortunately I had a 32GB already in a GoPro and was just able to switch them. This information was not forthcoming and I had to do some research to find out why the 64GB card did not work. ... show more

  • Easy installation, great product
Size: 7 Inch
Just installed last week. Took it out this past Sunday and was blown away by the charting function. Still getting used to the buttons and features, but it is one powerful device. I can't wait to use it when fishing. My only complaint would be to add a thumb-screw type bolt to the Tripleshot transducer in order to raise it when out of the water. Twice now, I've rounded the back corner of my pontoon boat and almost hit the transducer with my knee, since it sticks out almost a foot. ... show more

  • A big disiapointment so far!
Size: 12 Inch
There was no product Manual included. At this price that is a poor reflection on the Lowrance Company. When I called their helpline I was on hold for 45 minutes, before I reached an agent that I had a very difficult time understanding because of his very thick accent. I had several questions to ask as I was on the water and did not have access to a computer, and I gave up after getting my first one answered,I was put on hold 6 times as the agent had no idea of how to use the unit, It was just too painful!! If you are not going to include a Manual at least have top-notch customer service! The Agent had to spell certain words out so that I could communicate. He also told me that I would have to print my own Manual. Additionally, the Triple Shot Transducer is a VERY POOR DESIGN, It is very flimsy and the reviews of it state that it breaks very easily. I have been a long-time user of Lowrance products, which I have been very pleased with in the past unfortunately their overall quality seems to have gone down significantly. I have not had an opportunity to use it during an actual fishing trip but I hope to do so soon. Hopefully It will perform better in real life use. ... show more

  • Feature-packed FishFinder at a great value price!
Size: 7 Inch
I bought the Hook2 7 with triple shot transducer to replace a very old non-GPS Lowrance that was on my used boat when I bought it. The menu system is intuitive and well thought-out. The triple shot transducer is huge, but very easy to mount. Seems to me this unit is hard to beat, value-wise. Very happy so far. ... show more

  • Easy to install
Size: 12 Inch
I haven't had time to play with it yet. However, installation and setup was easy enough only took about 30 minutes to swap out the old fish finder. I have given the value for the money 3 stars just because i havent had a chance to really use it yet

  • Depth Display Did not Work
Size: 7 Inch
I used this used the unit twice. The first time I had to repeatedly keep turning it off and on to get the depth to work on the side display, once I got it work, it would work for a few minutes, then go to 1.9 or 2 feet, even though I was in known water and the chart itself is showing over 50 feet on the screen, but not on the side display. I then got the Navionics Chesapeake Bay Charts thinking that this would possibly correct this. (I was getting this even if the unit worked since the base charts are not the best.) I installed the Navionics Chart and the problem continued during the second time I took my boat out. I had the exact same issue. After this, I had no confidence in the readings it was showing me. I checked the Lowrance website to ensure that the unit's software was up to date and it was. I am in process of sending this unit back to the seller, since this was sold by a third party through Amazon. I don't think this will be a smooth return process. ... show more
