  • Not easy to use
Style: EAGLE 9" TripleShot
Well got it on water. No depth reading. Can't enter main menu. Now it turns on and then a black screen. Oh instead depth reading i get 3bars that's it. The lowrance app is ZERO help. I tried all kinds of things to correct above from a soft start to a hard start not work. And I also locked on to a screen. Another 3 to 4hrs spent screwing around with this thing. I got what to off of net, lorwance app no help. Now they say it's a soft ware problem. Hay this thing is only 3 days old. It had fully charged bran new battery. Now they say I might have to up or down load something. NO WAY IT IS GETTING RETURNED ... show more

  • Great entry level fish locator
Style: EAGLE 9" TripleShot
Not much else to say. It works as advertised and was easy to install. Only issue I had was some of the imaging would not display out of the box and after doing some research found that a setting was disabled.

  • Good, with minor compromises.
Style: EAGLE 9" TripleShot
This new Eagle is a budget model in the Lowrance lineup. For the price you get a very bright high resolution screen, embedded charts and excellent overall performance. It’s also important to mention what you DONT get. NO networking…no NMEA 2000 and no Ethernet. No engine monitoring, no second display networking. This is a display intended for a smaller boat, all in one system. You also don’t get a touchscreen which is kind of a bummer. Finally, side and downvision sonar is limited to 455 or 800 kHz. Higher end models and offerings from Garmin and Humminbird will go up to 1.2 mHz and have better imaging resolution in my experience. But there’s still a lot here to like. First, the UI is really good. If you’ve used any Lowrance or Simrad products in the last 10+ years it’ll be familiar and easy to master. It boots up fast and works without any kind of glitches. Sonar performance is good and the options of CHIRP, imaging and conventional will make it well rounded for any inland or coastal boat. The built-in mapping is plenty good for most uses. Very competitive at this price point. Internal GPS is very sensitive and quick to get a fix too. Overall the unit is slim, lightweight and very easy to install. The only caveat is the transducer, which is positively HUGE for something that I would otherwise find ideal for use on a small boat or kayak. All things considered, getting such a bright clear 9” display at this price is impressive. While it lacks higher end features, for the simple boat it’s great. ... show more

  • A Disappointing Display and Build Quality
Style: EAGLE 9" TripleShot
Despite promising advanced technology and features, the Lowrance Eagle Fish Finders with IPS Screen fall short in crucial areas that significantly impact the user experience. The combination of a sluggish touchscreen, poor daylight visibility, and a cheap-feeling construction leaves much to be desired. Display and Functionality: Sluggish Touchscreen: The touchscreen interface, while functional, suffers from noticeable lag and unresponsiveness. Navigating menus and adjusting settings becomes frustrating, especially in situations requiring quick action. Poor Daylight Visibility: The IPS screen struggles under direct sunlight despite its touted wide viewing angles. Colors appear washed out, and details become difficult to discern, hindering effective fish identification and navigation. Outdated Software: The user interface feels dated and clunky, lacking the intuitiveness and responsiveness of modern fish finder software. Build Quality: Cheap Construction: The ABS injection molding used for the unit's construction feels flimsy and lightweight, raising concerns about its durability in demanding marine environments. Flimsy Buttons: The physical buttons on the unit feel equally cheap and lack a tactile response, further contributing to the impression of a poorly constructed device. Mounting Concerns: Although functional, the mounting bracket feels somewhat insecure, leading to worries about the unit's stability during rough boat rides. Additional Observations: While the sonar performance is adequate for basic fish finding, it might not satisfy anglers seeking advanced features and target separation. The included transducer's cable could be longer for more flexible installation options. The overall value proposition is questionable, considering the device's display quality and construction shortcomings. Recommendation: While the Lowrance Eagle Fish Finders with IPS Screen might suffice for casual anglers with basic needs, its significant flaws in touchscreen responsiveness, daylight visibility, and build quality make it a difficult recommendation. If you prioritize a clear and responsive display, a durable construction, and a user-friendly interface, exploring alternative fish finders in the same price range would likely yield a more satisfying experience. ... show more
