Glad Hoover has parts for their vacs! We like the vacuum but this tube takes all the bending force every time, up, down, up down..:this tube bends…what do ya think is gonna happen ? Well of course it’s going to fatigue and break. Anyway, looks like a simple fix..:you’d think the brilliant minds at Hoover would have integrated a heavy plastic hinge part that wouldn’t fatigue and tear. This hose was TOO BIG & didn't fit. The frustrating part is that its not noticeably too big, but just enough so it wont quite catch to thread into the machine. If you want to scream and cuss & not have your vacuum fixed, then buy this item. I wish I could put negative stars for this product.

I have An NV 681_N 40 manufacture stated they discontinued powered head and they dont support having parts for vacuum. for any one that cares the hose is 1 3/8 inch hose fit the first time a lot of the other hoses are 1 1/2 inch hoses that don't work this was the 2nd hose i had to order from different suppliers. Not only that it got to me in 1 day i order it at 9:00pm and by 4:00pm the next day i had parts in had and by 9:00pm i had clean up the old parts and installed new ones with no issues other than they were a bit difficult to get on the plastic inside the base and handle. there are no good video of taking apart this unit it has a bunch of hidden parts and things that snap together make Shure you have the finger dexterity to pull hinge apart as it is a bit of a bear to get apart oh watch out for the hidden screw under the gasket for the brush roller it is right in the middle and it is stupid tiny you will miss it unless your looking for it ... show more

This does not fit our vacuum, Shark Duoclean nv800w. It is too big. Too long and too big around. I will say that I received my refund immediately. But I had to spend more time searching yet again for this item before I actually got the right one. I gave it two stars because we did get our money back right away. ... show more
