This bed is good overall, except the steps are placed in a vertical position, with less than an inch of wood for your foot to stand on. Its painful! My daughter jumps out of the bed because her feet hurt so bad using the steps. If the steps were horizontal it would be a perfect bed. Another thing is that since the bed is so low to the ground, we keep hitting our heads off the top bunk, so I cut a pool noodle and added it to the top bunk rail and now we bump our heads on soft noodle not wood. We like everything else about this sturdy, easy to assemble bed. The wood is also very pretty. And the top bunk is only 4 feet off the ground so its easy to change bed sheets. ... show more

Went together in about 3 hours and seems sturdy enough for our girls. Several quality issues during assembly such as uneven/poor paint job, debris left in the barrel nut holes and a shallow clearance hole causing a piece to crack. Instructions are very dense and not super easy to read but adequately show how to assemble the frame. Take some time to study it before assembling. Not thrilled that the slat holes are not pre-drilled, but there was enough information to space them correctly (for imperial unit people, roughly 2.5” for the first and 3-1/8” between the rest). Overall hoping it last but could certainly use better quality control. ... show more

These low bunkbeds are just what I wanted for my 4 year old and 2 year old grandsons. They are low in height, so they're safer for little ones and will fit in a small bedroom. My 4 year old loves the two ladders. The bottom mattress is close to the ground, so very safe for the 2 year old. Plus, there are guard rails both on top and at the ends of the bottom bunk. Standard twin size mattresses fit perfectly, and my son-in-law put the frame together easily.
