I am extremely happy today! My Strat with Texas Specials was very noisy. It would be worse in certain positions, and I’d have to rotate a certain angle while playing for it to go away. It made playing with overdrive pedals a nightmare as you can imagine. Took me about an hour and a half to completely shield the main Strat cavity and at the input jack. The tape is a little thin but not enough to rip too easily when applying, and if it accidentally sticks to itself, it’s not impossible to gently peel it apart without tearing it. It wasn’t that hard to shield the whole guitar cavity—(I recommend cutting it into 1” x 3” strips and doing little by little). I’m also very happy because there’s plenty copper left to shield more guitars. Luthiers charge $50+ for this service—if you’re fairly competent with electric guitars and have opened yours up before and put it back together, you can figure this out! Then I reassembled it and VOILA! I can now play at positions 1, 3, and 5 (the sweet spots). My Strat never sounded so good! I almost cried I was so happy with the tones I’m getting now. This guitar is now so sexy it may sleep in bed with me tonight! ... show more

I chose this product to use as shielding in the electrical cavity of a bass guitar I’m restoring. Radio interference and ground hum through the pickups is very disruptive when performing on stage so my research indicated that this process should prevent the unwanted noises. This does work. I put a strip on the top outside edge of the 4 by 8 by 3.4 ft wood planter box.. I took a flashlight out at night and watched slugs try to go over it. They turned back . There was a month long episode in May/June of massive amounts of slugs attacking the planter boxes.. about 8 boxes in a senior housing community. It has stayed on the wood for 3/4 mos now, withstanding rain and watering.. I still have some left.. This is one product that is mentioned in many slug issues. ... show more

This tape works well. It is thinner than I thought it would be so you have to be careful peeling the backing off of a long piece because it will want to curl up and once it sticks to itself, it is not coming up. I will purchase this again.

I run a recording studio and gear repair shop. One common thing I've noticed modifying old guitars and gear is the lack of shielding. I've been adding this to guitars and standalone effects units and have noticed a massive difference in noise levels between the gear I have shielded and that I can't yet. It's easy to work with, cuts without issue, and fits nicely in tight pockets inside guitars and old rack gear. The fact that it is conductive on the adhesive side saves me so much headache when trying to create noise shields.
