This is a glass top and it doesn’t smell bad at all. It doesn’t have much of a scent to it. It is lightweight and yet it is simplistic and beautiful. It works well for drawing surfaces. I use mine to work on my art pieces. So far it’s held up really well. Great buy.

I bought a new 42"x42" wooden dining-area table and was determined to keep the finish in the best shape, so I found this clear protector pad and thought it might work. It came TIGHTLY rolled up and I thought it would never lay flat, but this morning I started working it and laid it on the table with a new tablecloth over it. I started ironing it with a hot steam iron, being very careful not to let the steam hit the table edges, since that would definitely mess up the finish. After going over the whole table repeatedly, slowly and firmly pressing down, I have exactly what I wanted. My table is protected and the new tablecloth is wrinkly-free! This rubber protector is just slightly larger than the table, by the manufacturer's design, but that will probably add to the table's protection. It's quite thick too, so I never have to worry about dents or dings to the table; it was a good purchase! ... show more

Let the plastic rest on the living room floor and then transferred to the table. When i got this item, it was rolled up very tight , therein , lays the problem ! Even though it has been weeks since i got this , it still has upturned edges that refuse to lay flat on the table. Even tried clamping the edges down for a length of time >>> ,FAIL !! Tried hair dryer gun to soften the plastic , hoping to relax the material and it lies flat , another FAIL ! So good luck with it laying flat . This product needs to be packaged in a bigger diameter and not rolled up so tight , seems to be the only solution. This is the reason i rated it only 3 stars, plus it was just a tad over the 42 x 42 measurement. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this to protect the table from my toddlers lol. I ordered the frosted look and can still see the color of the table thru it. I have the glossy side up. It’s easy to clean. I used Windex and it did good. The only thing I didn’t like was that it came in a roll. The wrapper around it has instructions on what to do. I used the blow dryer method and then laid it out flat on the floor and placed heavy pots on it. A week later I feel like its still a little lifted and not completely flat on the table but it protects the table which is exactly what I needed. I also had to cut about an inch off to make it fit the exact size of the table top. The material is thick so I’m hoping it lasts me a while! ... show more
