  • These fans put out decent airflow, can be used in many applications, and are movable
LORELL 6" Clip-On Fan,2-Speed,5' Cord,8"x6"x9-1/2",White If you read any of my reviews, then you are aware that I am ill. Due to this, my husband and I grow as many veggies as we can year round. We always prefer growing outside, but it is not possible living in New England to grow outdoors year round, and the drought this year really impacted our vegetables outside, and some of them I do not know how to grow indoors. We learned by trial and error, (still learning) and air flow was something I never thought of until we took this on. I bought these and have been using them for out indoor vegetables.... It is adjustable, so regardless where you need to clip it, you can direct the airflow easily by untightening the thumb screw, positioning the fan where you would like, and tighten the thumb screw. I do not tighten it completely, as it is tight enough to keep it where I want it, but if I have to move the direction, it allows me to just move the fan without unscrewing. It was something I had to play with to get it just right, but it was not difficult, and it's really not a big deal if I do have to loosen the thumb screws. It definitely was not a game changer. The cord on this I believe is 6 feet long, or darned near close to it, which made life easy as I did not have to purchase an extension cord. These fans only have two speeds, which works, but I do wish they had a higher speed. Over time they do slow down with heavy use, and I'm not sure what the expected life of these are, but with the use several got, and they are almost 2 years old, The food fans really need to be replaced as they are the ones that have slowed, as I do not want to run into the issues we did while learning how different things are indoors Vs outdoors. I have several of these as not all are food fans, and the one I use in my bedroom is still working like it did when it came out of the box, but the usage on that fan is much different than our food fans. These are really decent fans for whatever your use, and they do put out some decent airflow, and depending on how frequently you use it, this can and will last for years. I use the one in my bedroom daily, but it is not on 24/7 where the food fans are. I'm really impressed with these fans and I love the fact that I can clip it anyplace, NOTE: if clipping to something you don't want a mark on, you might want to consider putting a cloth between the clip and the item being clipped onto. I did not have this issue with my bed, but it's oak, you might if you have pine. I will be procuring more, as I did try one other brand, and the differences were too great to ignore that these are the ones to get. ... show more

  • pros and cons
great fan, cools me off great when coming back in from break/lunch on a hot day, or if the office/window area is stuffy. lol it also blows away weird food smells if you point it up, and if the office is almost empty, you can take mini vape hits and blow it in the back, with it pointed horizontally, it will disperse it decently. (I only did it a few times when stuck on a long call) one thing I don't love is that it is quite large for 6", surprisingly so, and it's a pretty big clip too, fyi. I use mine at the office and my cube is a bit small so it's sitting on the computer under the desk currently, lol..? however, my old cube was bigger, and I had it clipped to the edge of the desk just fine, but I really wish this thing had an option for a stand/base! I have to pick it up and fumble with it at this new desk. i know, wah-wah. it would dry my tears, at least. also, honestly, i wish it had a third setting that was even lower than the current "1", as it seems a bit much in noise, but not horrible like a wind tunnel. it doesn't blow the mic really bad unless it's pointed right at your face, and as a perk it does slightly dampen the ppl around you. it's a little weaker under the desk now, i guess. overall I would say 5 stars but giving it 4 for people trying to make decison, especially if you dont have much clippable space, which cant really be bigger than 2 inches...no stand/pedestal option, and slightly..maybe expand your search. if you need a decent strength fan and have about a 10x6x4 area to spare with a clippable surface no wider than 2 inches max, and cab use about 3-3.5' power cable, you'll be good if ever buying a fan again i might try a tiny metal one or a tiny usb twisty-cable type ones. but those wouldn't help as much with smells or stuffy office I suppoze ... show more

  • Good tent fan
I looked for hrs for a fan for my grow tent. Ended up going with this one. I ended up using the clip with a diff fan head but it seemed to clip sturdy. I used this fan head in the outtake hole of my grow tent to blow out. Fit right in and kicks a good amount of air out of there. I'd recommend it for a cheaper fan for a grow tent ... show more

  • comparison between the Lorell and Genesis
You maybe wondering the difference between this fan and the Genesis fan which is double the price. None actually other than the Genesis comes with both a clip that you can remove and as stand you can put on and change it into a desk fan. I you will never have a need to use it as a desk fan buy this one, but if you need to use it on a desk then buy the Genesis. They look basically the same and work the same. There is no oscillation which was a plus for me as I don't like fans that go back and forth and never use that feature. If you need a fan for your headboard to handle hot flashes it is perfect for that and has some adjustability, up, down, left and right. Nice little plastic fan at a great price point I may buy another. I like having little fans through out the house, it helps keep my AC bill down in the summer as I can keep it on 80 and just use these little fans to keep me cool. I see they have now raised the price and its almost the same price as Genesis.... what a shame. Try to catch it when its at the lower price again. ... show more

  • Used for a grow tent, pretty good bang for the buck!
using inside a 3x3 grow tent for nighttime breeze. If you have thin frame, the clip is to big. I wrapped a piece of cardboard around the pole and secured with some masking tape-no real issues. The fan has two speeds with are noticeable from each other. you can keep this inside the tent but you're gonna have to "finagle" with the direction of the clip itself as it wants to push on the tent fabric (but you can get it done). If your gonna clip it to a desk or something more than 3 inches thick-this is a great little fan and the clip is real strong. Not the most ideal for the inside of the tent but it does a great job for the $$! ... show more

  • great for traveling and will clip almost anywhere
I put this on the headboard of the bed and it works fantastic. Very surprised at the amount of air it can move. we take it with us everywhere because we like the sound when we're sleeping. Ours has been to Guatemala Honduras Cozumel and Tulum as well as Spain, Italy and a few other places in the Mediterranean. Cruise ships can be wild with all the people drinking and partying. You can hear them through your door. This does not get in the way in your cabin. It's off the floor and it drowns out much of the noise. another thing that's very important is I have never been on a cruise ship that has a thermostat. They all have one air conditioning vent that blows cold air in but on all my cruises the rooms tend to be on the warm side. This little thing does the job on cruise ships and it fits perfectly well inside a carry on. Update: 11/2019. Still working fine. I'd prefer it be louder but it clips to our headboard great. Use it every night. My wife gets warm in winter so it's on her side blowing in her face. No complaints! ... show more

  • The BEST!
The first one I bought was the LASKO! It had the best reviews out of most of these fans at the time! It was the LOWEST powered fan I have ever experienced! I used it anyway bc i put it a foot away from my head on my bed post! It stopped working after 6 months! I took a chance on this one and it's 100x better than the lasko! Very strong wind for a small fan and a nice low setting! Hope this helps for anyone making a decision! ... show more

  • Works Great for your Front Load Washer!
Works great at drying my front load washer after each use. I bought this cheap fan to help dry the tub, door, and surrounding surfaces of my (horrible, useless, mold-haven, mildew-creating front load washer). After completely disassembling my washer, removing multiple parts including the gasket, I thoroughly cleaned all surface areas to get rid of the nasty smell and mold. After all that work, I was determined to avoid ever having to repeat that process. Aside from taking the washer to the landfill (or recycling center) - I had no other choice. This little beauty clips on the door and blows a satisfactory amount of air into the washer. I simply dry off all surface areas first then clip on the fan and walk away. About 6 to 8 hours later - presto it's dry! I've been using it for a couple months and there is no sign of mold or mildew (sight or smell). Yay! ... show more

  • Great fan for a kids bunk bed
My son has the top bunk and he gets so warm up there, the box fan doesn't reach him up there etc, so I picked this up for him and he was so excited. I let him put it together because there was almost no assembly (line up the base, tighten the screw). It grabs the side of the bed and is pretty sturdy feeling, and you can rotate/angle the fan almost any which way and with two speeds you can find the perfect setting and placement. My son said the white noise helps relax him too, and it's not loud. I can only hear it when I 'm standing right next to the bunk. All in all I am happy with this purchase. We've had it a couple weeks now and no complaints ... show more

  • When new, it is quiet. After a couple of years, it's time for a new one.
It ran its heart out. I use it to keep my Dish cabinet cool. It travels in my RV and I turn it on every time I stop and use my TV system. It is quiet and moves lots of air and has done a great job. As it aged, it got dirtier and slower to come up to full speed, to the point that I had to stick a pencil in and flip the blades to get it going. Figured it was time for a new one. Gee...it was less than $10 bucks and the new one is more quiet than I ever remember. Clamp is strong and the adjustments pretty much let me hang it anywhere...even upside down. Will buy another in a couple of years! ... show more

  • I am gonna buy a few more of these!
Needed a clip-on fan and had some Amazon points to burn. After checking into a few reviews, I went with this unit right here... and I must say, I never thought that it would actually EXCEED my expectations for a cheap clip-on fan... and yet, it did! This unit is simple and no-frills. Has a 'high' and a 'low' setting, and can be clipped / pointed just about in any direction. Also, the clip is VERY strong. Also, it moves air REALLY really well. The most impressive thing about this fan though is how quiet it is. It's so quiet on the 'low' setting that it blends into the background noise of my house. In fact, if anything, I think the hum of my fridge is almost louder. On the 'high' setting, though you can definitely hear the fan by that point, it's still easy to ignore. I've never had such a quiet fan of this size before. Planning to buy a couple more for when summertime hits here in NC. ... show more

  • Good little fan
Seems like a good little fan to put next to your bed or something like that. Only time will tell if it lasts. All products like this seem cheap and like they will break, but as long as you treat it nice, they usually do just fine. The fan actually works well and blows air nicely, and has almost no sound. Could be a little sturdier and well made for the price (everything these days is over priced and low quality it seems like). But overall, happy with it so far. ... show more

I purchased this to take with me to the hospital when I give birth. I have not yet made it there (36 weeks pregnant currently) however I have been using this every day for several weeks! Our house has uneven cooling and the livingroom doesn't get much air so my husband clipped this fan to the end table beside my recliner and it has been a life saver! Ordered two. One box says two way fan....clip on or free standing. Other is just clip on. Boxes are identical so are part numbers. They'll still work for me, but if you want an option for free standing be careful what you order. Product seems to do the job, quiet and sturdy.
