The media could not be loaded. First impressions: The materials are solid enough to stand up to someone who is learning to fly a drone. The enclosed rotors will need replacing rarely at best, and the body is unlikely to break easily. The controller also has a solid feel to it. When it came time to actually use the drone, one of the first things that struck me was the design for the phone mount. It is easily removed from the remote control, and can be stored by mounting it again, but placed so the phone clip is nestled against the bottom of the remote body. As a smaller aircraft, I decided to run most of my tests indoors. The fans are quiet, but loud enough that you wouldn't want the kids to play with it while you're watching TV. Because of a ceiling fan, there was a bit of drift - so I decided to try the "trim" capability, and found my first disappointment. The implementation of trim adjustment is quite intuitive; you hold down on the joystick while you adjust until the drone stops moving. Unfortunately, this tended to trigger the speed behavior as well, which interfered with adjusting the trim. To be honest, I'm not sure I ever got the trim to adjust properly. After a little time using the remote, I decided to try the phone app. To use the phone, first you connect your phone to the drone's WiFi and the app will use that connection to control the drone. It was a VERY pleasant surprise to see the drone WiFi channel was obvious - "loolinn_(a few numbers)" - as opposed to "X30_4K_2.4G_2002ff" (which is another drone but I have no idea what brand or model!) After a little time familiarizing myself with the app, I decided to try the "Draw a path" feature. This was really cool - I just drew on the screen, then tapped the "go" button, and the drone did just what I told it to. (But the scale was a little tough to identify, so it bounced off the wall a time or two). The instruction manual has a very small form factor - less than 3 inches per side. Good for teeny tiny hands, not so much for old man eyes. Still, it is written well and clearly explains how to use the device. It was very nice to see a complete parts list in the user manual. Checking the manufacturer's site, however, I cannot find anything but replacement propellers and new batteries. The only real challenge I had with the drone was when the battery gets low, it beeps. It took me a while to find the part in the manual that says "When the battery is low, it will beep". I could not find a list that described what different beeping patterns could mean. I have uploaded a short video of my autistic son enjoying it, as well as the first picture I took, as the drone was sitting on the floor, to give a feel for the quality of the camera. Overall, I'm really pleased with this purchase. The drone is easy to use, sturdy, and has some neat features. It could be a little advanced for a 5 year old to use, but with a little supervision, your 7-year old (or older...:) could have a lot of fun with it. ... show more

Comparing this drone to others, I like the fact it has the guard around the propellers, I received one for Christmas 2 years ago and was flying it in the house, it landed on the floor near a desk and before I could pick it up it had caught hair caught up around one of the props and stripped out the gear. 5 mins out the box and is garbage. With this drone the rings protect the props and avoid a situation like the one I mentioned. Having the guard set this a bit higher on the kid type drones for the overall protection of the drone and its props and body. Easy enough to Fly indoors and outdoors with no wind as it will get pushed around and become uncontrollable and crash. The aided take off and landing lets you jump right in and start having fun flying the drone. The adjustable controls lets you fine tune controller to the drone to make flying it easier and precise. The colors of the drone make it stand out so if flown outdoors makes it easy to keep your eyes on it. Camera works and takes decent video. Seems like it should last for a while and as with any drone avoid the unseen hair flying it indoors, lol. The one con I see, is that in a market flooded with kid type drone the cost is a bit higher than others, but like the saying goes sometimes, you get what you pay for. First of all I got the best customer service ever. They really bent over backwards to help me out with my concerns. The drone flys nicely and it can be a little frustrating at first as I learned, but if you stick with it, it will really hone your skills to fly a more adult drone. The media could not be loaded. This drone for kids is exactly as advertised! It does well outside unless it is windy. It does really well indoors due to the protective guides surrounding the props and the very lite weight of the drone itself. Features such as the ability to connect to a smartphone through WiFi, auto takeoff and landing, its small size and the factory supplied remote make this drone a great value. My 12 year old son and I have had a lot of fun flying this drone. It comes with two batteries and extra props. The battery life is impressive for an inexpensive drone such as this! We flew the drone while recording with the camera and one battery lasted about 9 minutes. If we weren't recording it would have lasted longer but my son enjoys filming like I do! The controls were easy to figure out as well the Loolin app. It even allows you to set a pre-routed flight path. The remote control portion takes 4 'AA' batteries so make sure to purchase those ahead of time. I keep the rechargeable ones in my house for toys like this. I would recommend this drone to anyone with a child who is interested in flying drones or someone who wants to spend quality time with their child. Take care and happy flying! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. What a great little drone!!! The camera is not the best quality, but that is the ONLY con! I was able to fly this through the rain without a problem. It flies very well and is easy to control. It has two flying modes which make it super easy depending on where you are flying. Also has three speeds to adjust. You can crash it all day long and never have an issue. It fell from almost the second floor and still haven't replaces any blades! Really knocked it out of the park, and makes for such an awesome gift! ... show more
