I can't express in words how satisfied I am with this laser. The Ray5 w/10W laser module greatly exceeds my expectations. The laser is very well-built, and was rather easy to assemble as long as you follow the directions step-by-step. Took me about 45 minutes to assemble it - as this was my first laser and I've never put one together before. In the short time that I have owned it I have already made fantastic engravings such as coasters, art, monograms, and other fantastic projects. I can't believe how powerful this device is...simply SUBERB! I did my internet due diligence [for two weeks] before purchasing this specific unit by Longer, and I'm glad I did. There were many other laser options out there, but the Ray5 received fantastic reviews from everybody that uses one, and most of them were using the 5W version. I decided to go with a 10W unit because I wanted to make sure that I did not outgrow the 5W unit too quickly - if that's even possible because the 5W unit received rave reviews for what it could do. Plus the fact the Longer Ray5 has a color display in the left front that makes things so much easier when using it. Yes, I had several questions after assembling the laser and starting to use it - and I must say, product support from Longer has been simply incredible. I would email a question and get a response within 24 hours - if not sooner - in every instance. The only way customer support for the Longer could be better, is if the support staff were in the same room with me when I asked a question. Customer support is important to me - but I never anticipated it would be this good. I'm glad I chose this Longer laser. So I'm sure whoever is looking to purchase a laser is going to do their own due diligence. If quality, ease-of-use, power, and importantly - customer support – is important to you, look no further. Choose a Longer Ray5 laser and you will not regret it!

This was my first laser engraver, and it is super fun and powerful! This thing works well on wood, slate and even metal. Planning to use it to make gifts for friends and family. Just be careful with a 20W laser and take safety precautions from burning or damaging eyes. Great product, highly suggested buying.

Longer Ray5 is easy to use and works great for my needs. Had a small issue with the Y axis cable and contacted Longer support and they helped me diagnose the issue and will be replacing the cable pack for me under warranty.

The engraver is not quite up to what it claims from the recommended settings. When cutting 3mm basswood it is taking me 2 passes at a lower speed. When doing a engraving on wood, I am having to do it at a slower speed and higher power. It seems to do ok with the metal on the Amazon black business cards and coasters. Another problem, I have had is with the machine just stopping while engraving. Common message was lost connection. This happens weather I am connected with the cord or using the SD card. This was a hit and miss regardless of the project. It is really fusterating when it ruined the project. The machine did a nice job when it completed the project. It just is taking a lot longer than what the recommended setting were or unsuspected stops for no reason, that may ruin the project. Most of the research I did on this engraver were good, I just didnt get the results that I saw from the other reviews.

have had this longer ray 5 20 watt little over a month and the laser module went out today , has been seeming weak . i got the extension kit as well the 410x850mm {16x35 inch } is great update 12-16-23contacted longer have to say great customer service they sent a new motherboard , new laser module, new power supply . got laser running again and wow has awesome power . took 16 days to get parts from China to Arkansas the absolute best customer service buy one you wont regret it very good company and service department . pics are actual burns done with this laser on glass and some on canvas and wood

This engraver works as advertised. As a beginner in engraving, I find myself diving deep into the art form. It's a really good hobby and a means to additional income. My only downside is the assembly took some work, between youtube and the manual it was assembled in 35 minutes. Apart from that I didn't get the washers and some screws as per the package it came in. Nevertheless, that was an easy workaround and I'm happy with this purchase.

When my son plugged it in it didn’t work correctly and then he realized he had to turn the laser on. When it turned on it burned a hole in the table which will be a subject of conversation for a long time. However, it works great!

I have the Longer Ray5W that I have been very happy with. I bought the air assist from longer and I cannot get it to mount to my laser head. I've left multiple voicemails, emails..... All go unanswered. I was able to make contact thru a FaceBook group where I was told someone would contact me. After many more tries thru Facebook, I've yet to be contacted. Horrible customer service from Longer. You get way more help from fellow customers.
