Perfect fit on the ray 5, although the 5 watt laser I bought worked great, the 10 watt allows me to use laser engraver for more projects and a bit faster. Easy install.

I had the Longer 10w for my Ray5 and decided it was time for an upgrade. Installation takes some time (30 mins or so), but the instructions were straight forward. Just a tip: While you have the 3 wheels out, it would be a good idea to oil them a little before reinstalling. I will say the limit switches were a bit of a pain. The paper instructions say place them at this specific measurement while the video online says something completely different. I reached out to Longer's customer service, to get clarification on where to set the limit switches and they don't know either. Besides that, the laser module seems to be made and functions well.

The guts of this are the exact same guts on the X7Pro Atomstack. You'll have to do some disassembly, but it's in there. The lens is a much longer focal length, so you can deal with a 50mm lens, or heat and remove swapping the atomstack lens. Was a pleasant suprise, the fine point of the laser, the detail you can get out of it even after gutting it and swapping parts. Kinda wish I had a Longer laser at this point, but, in all honestly, I now do.

These laser modules are not reliable. I have had two stop working within a 3 week period. I purchased and began using the Longer Ray5 5W laser in January (2025) and the laser module stopped working a few weeks later in March. Longer agreed to replace the laser module but after two weeks it has not arrived. While waiting for the 5W module I purchased the 10w module as it is a direct replacement for the 5w module on the machine so I could continue fulfilling customer orders. One week later the 10w module stopped working. I am now returning my second module within three weeks.

if you want a unit that performs as described then this is not the one. it will not engrave on stainless steel as described i have tried everything customer support has told me to, i did actually get it to lightly engrave aluminum once, it engraves wood great and will engrave slate stone and does ok on acrylic. Customer support seems more interested in buying a good review than actually helping you get the described results.
