Description

The Anniston Collection is a washable rug with traditional motifs in beautifully saturated and distressed tones. This durable area rug is power- loomed of polyester and designed for the busiest rooms of the home—living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, and more. It can be washed in a home washing machine without an agitator, depending on the size. Any rug size 5' x 7'6" or smaller, including all runners, can fit into a washing machine that’s 3.4 cubic feet or bigger; 6' x 9' rugs require a washer that’s 4.2 cubic feet or bigger, 7'6" x 9'6" rugs require a washer that’s 4.8 cubic feet or bigger, 9' x 12' rugs must be washed in a commercial washer with at least a 60-lb capacity. This rug is beautiful and is surprisingly soft. I was looking for something thin to put under a desk and didn't want my desk chair to mash down the pile. This rug is perfect for that. This rug looks great in a room - it's large and pretty with a subtly faded design. It's quite thin but is soft and feels nice underfoot.     • Very low pile, but just what I wanted

I'm a dog owner and have a bit reluctantly moved over to washable (and less expensive) rugs recently, and given up for a time being on the nice wool rugs that I once had that just got trashed over time. I have tried a number of washable rugs recently, so I have something to compare this to. Overall, I knew what to expect here, and am very happy with the rug. This rug is very thin. It is soft underfoot in the sense of chenille, but not in the sense of thickness. If you want that, plan to add a rug pad. It has a textured rubber backing, so it won't slip around much on my hardwood floors (although the energetic dog in particular can still cause it to drift a bit or for the corners to flip up -- carpet tape would help with that). It arrives rolled rather than folded, which means it doesn't come with creases that need to be worked out (most of my washable rugs, even the 9x12's, have arrived folded). The edges are well bound AFAICT most washable rugs are printed onto blanks. This means that the color can vary -- some are paler than others -- even if you get two of "the same rug", which I know bugs some reviewers, so just be aware. Or maybe when they printed the one you get, the printer was low on yellow ink or something, so the color isn't quite what you were expecting. Additionally, I've found that the higher pile washable rugs have the printing only on the surface, and the rug fibers closest to the backing are still white or off white... I really dislike the look of that, so I avoid the higher pile rugs. That said, this one is flatter than most. I found that a super flat one was wonderful for the kitchen entry to my home, where I wanted a washable something, but also door clearance, and it's sort of sweepable as well, so it's easier to keep that one cleaner than I'd guessed. This one is for my bedroom, and I don't need super flat there, so I might get a rug pad. This does have the deliberate streaks in it that you see in the product photos, but I really like the colors. Since I was already primed for the shortcomings of washable rugs (but lovelovelove being able to put them in the washing machine), I'm very happy with this rug. ... show more

When I first got this, before unrolling and laying it down, I was not so sure I liked the design. So I kept it rolled up for longer than I should have. But was I regretting it when I finally did decide on putting it in my entryway. It looks so good over my hardwood floor. And it goes amazingly well with our cream colored couch. It is very thin, so I'm still on the fence with that. But I think I need to add something below it so it has some cushion. It also makes it easier to clean, which will be necessary more often with it being at our front door. So far, no sliding on its own. I wish I would have gotten a runner size, which I may still do. I have used the Loloi brand rugs before. In fact my living room has a large Loloi rug, it's a well known brand that's sold in home decor stores so I decided to order this one as I needed a new rug for my dining area, and something that the furniture glides on easily as the dining chairs are always being pushed in and out. I thought this one would be similar to my living room Loloi rug as that one is pretty thin too but this one is rug is super thin, it's so much thinner than my living room rug. This is like fabric with a backing. It has almost no pile, as it's smooth. There is absolutely no way this rug can be used without one of those thicker rug pads and be called a rug. Without a pad it would be like laying down fabric on floor. This rug will work well over another rug. So for my dining room, I will just use it over my old rug. The old rug was an original Persian rug. Apparently, you can tell by design of the rug, which family/region in Persia the rug is from as each design was unique to a region. Anyway, that rug is still going strong as they are 100% wool and meant to last over a hundred years, and it cleans up well with vacuuming and steam cleaning. However, after 20 years of this rug, I wanted a fresh look. I am now just going to put this Loloi rug over the older Persian one, and that old rug will still be good after this one is done after a few years. Other than the thin material, the rug arrived rolled up on a very long cardboard tube, so it was not wrinkled. It is super thin and so even my 8 feet by 10 feet rug can be washed in a washing machine. This is a plus if you have pets. These rugs have no pile so they're easy to clean and stay smooth and clean. It's very easy to slide furniture on these rugs too. You just need to make sure they don't move on hardwoods, if they don't have a rug pad with some way to secure them to the rug pad, they will move around and crease. The Spice/Multi color goes with the red theme, I have, and the faded look makes it not too overpowering. OK for a decor change if you're looking for a very thin rug. ... show more
