    • Nice keyboard with a few flaws

I selected the MX Mechanical full size based on already having the MX Master 3S Mouse which I love. I like the bolt receiver and the fact that it works so well. I liked having my mouse connected via bluetooth however when I switched to having a work laptop I needed a docking station and KVM so I went back to the bolt receiver. The MX Mechanical keyboard is very nice with some pros and cons. I have the tactile version. I like the smooth keypress feel however the keypress registers very high at the top of the keypress so at first I was getting a lot of double keystrokes until I learned to be a bit more gentle with the keys. Another pro is that the keycap is not recessed into the keyboard and the way the switch is setup there is a space between the board and the keycap; this means that crumbs that sneak into the keyboard can be cleaned out easily and won't get trapped inside. The backlight is very nice and even and doesn't spill out excessively from the sides of the keys. There are a few cons. There is no space between the top number row and the function keys, or between each of the four groups of function keys, which means I can't press the function keys by feel. By default, the function key is locked on, which means when you press a function key, you are actually pressing it's alternate function like volume up or down, which is backwards to me (why do all new laptops do that too?). Fortunately, with regards to the function key, there is a way to reverse the function lock by pressing FN+ESC so that pressing a function key does not activate its alternate function by default. The other con is that there is no print screen button! I find this very annoying. Instead, you must press FN+F7 (or just F7 if you don't reverse the function lock...). Perhaps there is a way to fix this in Logi Options, but I shouldn't have to figure that out on a $160 keyboard, sorry Logitech. Also, for some reason, I had an issue with the Num Lock key and I think it had to do with the FN key there too. Very annoying. For what is to be considered a "Full-size" keyboard, this should have no need for a function key, or at least it should not for Num lock and Print screen. Otherwise, the keyboard is great and I am very happy with, quirks aside. It works great with my KVM and it works fine on my work laptop which does not have (or the ability to have) Logi Options installed. ... show more

### Exceptional Keyboard for Productivity and Style! I've been using the Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless Illuminated Performance Keyboard, and it's been a game-changer. This keyboard exudes quality with its heavy and premium feel, making typing a pleasure. What's truly remarkable is the battery life. With the backlight on, it lasts a full month on a single charge; turn off the backlight, and you get a whopping 10 months of usage – incredible! The USB-C connectivity is fast and reliable, and the sleek design adds a touch of sophistication to my workspace. The six lighting customizations allow me to personalize my typing experience, and key remapping is a fantastic feature for customization. However, there's a drawback – the Logi Options Plus software doesn't work on Android, limiting some features on the go. Also, my workplace restrictions prevent me from downloading the software, so I can't unlock its full potential there. But even without it, the keyboard performs excellently; you just can't customize it as extensively. In summary, the Logitech MX Keyboard is a top-tier choice, offering impressive battery life, USB-C connectivity, and customization options. I had the MX Master keyboard with low-profile keys, and liked it well enough -- until a couple of the keys started jamming. It was my second such experience with that style of very low profile keyboard, so decided it was time to try a mechanical. I was wary of buying another Logitech, after the experience with the other MX, but upon doing a bit of research found that the MX Mechanical seemed like one of the best options in the middle price range. So far I am quite happy with it. It took a bit of getting used to, but now that I've made the switch I do like the feel of the low-profile mechanical keys. I had gotten used to the near silence of the low profile style keyboard, however, and even with the tactile/quiet version of this keyboard, it is a bit noisier than I'd ideally like. But, of course, with the key travel there's no way to make it as silent as with a truly low profile keyboard. It's fine, I'll get used to it. The keyboard does seem to be of high quality. I like that it's got some heft, and the design is very straightforward. The backlighting is pretty good. One thing of note, that I think a few other reviewers have noted: my keyboard was just a tad warped, right out of the box. It wouldn't set flat, without rocking a tiny bit, on my desk. I saw a suggestion from someone saying to just give it the mildest twist, and it'll be fine. I did that, and, sure enough, it's been fine ever since. I don't know if it's a bug or a feature, but I decided I liked the idea of it being that easy to give it a little adjustment whenever needed. Overall this one looks like it might be a long term keeper, and I may even move on to the full size version and use the mini for more portable use cases. ... show more
