Adding a shifter really enhances the driving experience. Vintage cars didn't have automatic transmissions or paddle shifters, so this makes you feel like you're in more realistic control. Build quality is a little cheap feeling, plastic in quality, and doesn't have the solid notch sensation a real gear shifter would in real life. It goes well with the steering wheel I have (logitech g290 I believe it was called, got it from here too). Makes playing ATS very enjoyable and help to that overall feeling of being actually driving a semi.
