  • Ticks off all my must-haves for my iPad 8th generation
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard
I have owned and had keyboards for iPad minis, an iPad Pro 11” and this 8th generation iPad. I also have a Surface Pro 6, which is what intrigued me about this case/keyboard setup. It’s basically a smaller Surface, and the only reason I didn’t give it straight 5s is that for one handed use you can’t just flip the keyboard around the back like I can on the Surface. But this is just a minor inconvenience, and certainly not a deal breaker. I have no problem with the feel of the keystroke on this keyboard as another review mentioned. I don’t use this for work most of the time but I don’t think that it would bother me even if I was using it consistently. The key placement is the same as a full size desktop keyboard. I have a keyboard for my mini that has the Shift and Enter/Return keys reversed and that is the first thing I look for in a keyboard. This one has those two keys in the same place as a laptop or desktop keyboard. If you type with any speed, that is a big issue-having to stop and ‘think’ about the fact that those keys are reversed is disruptive. The easy detachabililty of the keyboard is what, for me, sets this case apart from others. I had and returned another major vendor folio case because I don’t want to have to remove the iPad from the case just to use it without the keyboard. Just snapping it on and off is the best solution for me. Pros: great build-very sturdy and the keyboard magnets hold it tightly closed when you carry it. Very comfortable keyboard size and key travel. Love the pencil loop-now I always have the pencil where I am. Kickstand is very secure and makes the iPad ‘lapable’ when I’m watching TV or other activities using the iPad in my lap. Con: Keyboard has to be removed for one handed use, rather than being able to flip it around the back. Neutral: it does make the iPad heavy, but it’s been my experience that you don’t get the quality of keyboard that this has in a lighter weight keyboard. Price is higher than some lesser known names, but less expensive than Apple. ... show more

  • Expensive, but a nice solution
Style: Combo Touch Pattern: Tablet Keyboard
I purchased this based on a review I read. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. The iPad snaps in nicely and securely. The speakers have a nice open channel, as does the charging port. The power button and volume buttons are extended to the outside surface of the skin of the "case" and extend the tactile feedback of the button presses nicely. The keyboard attaches with a magnet with satisfying snap as it clicks into place, kind of like the old mag charges on older Macbooks did (I still miss that). The screen goes to sleep when the keyboard is closed, and wakes up with it's opened, completing the overall feel of it really "becoming one" with the iPad. The keys on the keyboard are backlit, which is nice. The touchpad has multipoint features so it operates much like a Macbook does. When the keyboard and kickstand are closed and the whole thing is "buttoned up" it has a nice, snug feel in my hand. I could easily carry it like a book and it's about 2/3 the size of my laptop. A couple of unknowns for me at this point include a few things. First, the rubber loop for the stylus/pen/pencil is a little bit of a concern. It feels like it could stretch over time and potentially not have the snug fit it has when it's new. Additionally, since it's external to the case, I fear that it could get snagged on something and rip out of the seam it's likely stitched into. Second, it's not clear yet how much battery draw the keyboard might have on the iPad. Despite it being a tad thick, it doesn't look like it has an internal battery of it's own to rely on. It attaches to the iPad through the three-point connection on the side of the tablet. Third, the kickstand on the back of the case, which holds the iPad in place while it's in a laptop orientation seems to be a little flimsy. Specifically, the point where it hinges seems like it could become weak over time. Out of the box it works fine, but opening it feels like I'm bending something that isn't meant to be bent. I haven't tried extending it too far because it doesn't seem to have anything built into it from stopping it at any point, so I'm afraid it would just break and end up flopping around. I guess I'll find out over time. Finally, the surface of the entire case (even the palm wrest portion of the keyboard) has a fabric-like feeling to it. While it certainly feels nice and warm, I'm concerned that it could easily get stained and show wear. Again, I guess time will tell. Overall I like this product, and getting it on sale certainly made the cost more palatable. Hopefully if I can be delicate with those portions I expressed concern with, it will last for a while. ... show more

  • Its a high quality keyboard case very durable
Style: Slim Folio Pattern: Tablet Keyboard
I bought this for my 9th generation ipad. Im a fan of logitech products and this keyboard case is a durable high quality case. However the instructions for pairing are worthless and didn’t work for me. Here is how I got it to pair. After snapping in your iPad and positioning on the case, you 1- turn on your bluetooth in ipad settings then 2- with your ipad screen showing Bluetooth, you press the pairing button ( 2nd one in from the right) on keyboard for 2 sec. Then 3- once you see the word slim folio on your screen, you touch that word with your finger. Then 4- a message will show asking you to type on your key board a given number code, 5- then you hit the Return key on your keyboard and then it shows your connected. Oh, BTW, Rufus will tell you that this keyboard is backlit.. it is NOT! ... show more
