  • A decent and affordable wearable prop helmet
The fourth Marvel Legends helmet to be released, and one we have been hoping for, for some time. This is a really nice rendition of the Ant-Man helmet circa Ant-Man and the Wasp/Infinity War/Endgame. It’s the sleeker more streamlined design. I’ll admit to being a little disappointed by that, as the original Ant-Man helmet from his first movie is more interesting. But that’s a matter of personal taste. Overall it is quite well executed, using the same solid plastic as the previous helmets. It is largely fully painted, giving it a nice prop feel. It doesn’t look or feel like a toy. Out of the box you need to attach the two side antennae. They are a bit tough and tricky to get on. Use gentle pressure. Once on you quickly realize that it is pointless to save the box as a collectible. You’re never gonna get those antennae off again, so it’s not going back in the box. Pros; - good sculpt - sized well for big heads - light effects are subtle but engaging Cons; - painted silver, while well done, is clearly painted silver.it doesn’t have quite the sheen of metal. Creative types may consider repainting with Alclad II or similar. - visibility is limited. No surprise, this is the case with all the Hasbro Marvel helmets. Although it is surprisingly better than the other Marvel helmets, so there is that. - the light up features are kind of meh. Just lights, no sounds, no Bluetooth speaker or voice changer. - It’s a bit stuffy. It’s great for the casual nerdling, but actual cosplayers May need to modify in some extra airflow before wearing it to a con all day. Overall, I would put this in the number 3 spot for the four Marvel helmets. It’s nicer than Black Panther, but Starlord and Iron Man still beat it out. That’s not saying it is bad. The 4 Marvel helmets are better than most of the Star Wars Black helmets, and no question far superior to the Transformers Optimus Prime and Bumblebee helmets. If you collect Helmets this guy is a must have. ... show more

  • Good for the price but nothing special
I picked mine up on an amazon deal for $50 which was a significant enough discount for me to put the money down. I think it looks good in a detolf, not quite as good as the iron man marvel legends helmet, it looks quite plastic, i feel like they could have painted it to give it more of a metal feel but I understand that for the price it makes sense that they didn’t. It’s quite big and bulky also, so it does not feel completely movie accurate. I don’t think it would look great for cosplay but as a display piece it definitely does the job and looks better somehow behind the glass. I am always torn with the marvel legends series, on the one hand they are affordable enough to be able to buy without regretting the price tag but at the same time you get what you pay for and the piece lacks some overall quality, especially with the finish. Overall I think it’s a nice piece for the marvel or ant man fan and it makes a nice display piece but it doesn’t blow me away, I honestly would have paid more if a little more effort was put into the quality and paint job, I think I would pay double or triple the price for a better finish, they should make 2 versions of all of their stuff, a lower priced version and a more expensive one that is more movie quality for the collector. I’m sure I am not the only person that would pay more for a better, more detailed version. ... show more

  • Looks awesome. Back falls off easily
This is an awesome looking helmet. It lights up. It looks real. It fits great. However, I have noticed that the back panel will not stay on. It is really frustrating. I finally taped it inside the helmet and that did the trick. If the back panel stayed on I would have given 5 stars.

  • Good helmet for regular size head
I read a lot about this helmet, saying the back flap is loose, as well as one of the antenna ear fails to light up. I think these comments are partly correct, but doesn't exactly reflect the truth. It is true that the back flap is not as secure as the other Marvel legends helmets, however, it isn't as bad as it sounds...Maybe because I have a small head (regular size adult about 6 feet tall), the back flap does remain tightly closed well when I am wearing it, even if I try to move my head up and down, don't find any problem at all. As for the antenna ear, when I first attached it, yes, only one side lights up, however, when I tried to reattach it again, it works perfectly fine afterwards. So it looks like there is some attachment issue, but once it is solved, there is no problem. In this case, I would give this helmet a 5 stars... ... show more

  • Great product w/ a minor problem....
Absolutely fantastic quality for the price you pay. Marvel Legends has again put out yet another excellent product (just in time for Avengers: Endgame... welcome back Scott). However, one small gripe, if you've got the size head that this thing is designed for, the back plate that allows you to slip in and out of the thing doesn't secure properly. The little push latch doesn't really clip in properly, which means the slightest movement of your head and your back panel is flapping wide open. Shouldn't be too hard to fix, but given that you're dropping almost $100 on this, you'd think this would should better craftsmanship. Outside of that, it's great. The light activation is smooth and glows from color to color. I may have found my 2019 Halloween costume. ... show more

  • Added to my collection
Good for the price, box came damaged but helmet was fine, i prefer not damaged boxed for collectibles but not gonna send it back for the price ill live with it. Ant-Man in general isn’t as cool as the other marvel heroes but he’s unique and helmets wasn’t too pricey. Would be nice to have sound but think about it what sound would it make shrinking sound effects??? He’s a small part of the marvel or MCU, the irony “small part”. ... show more
