Description

Loctite PL Premium Construction Adhesive is a one component, polyurethane based, moisture-curing adhesive perfect for a wide variety of projects. PL Premium is 3x stronger than ordinary construction adhesives. This paintable and water-resistant construction adhesive is great for both exterior and interior applications with no strong solvent odor and can be applied directly to wet and frozen surfaces without shrinking for exterior projects. PL Premium Construction Adhesive permanently bonds together almost any substrate and sets in 30 minutes and fully cures in 24 hours even in cold temperatures. Ideal for a variety of projects including sub floor installations, Loctite PL Premium bonds to most common construction materials such as wood, plywood, OSB, MDF, treated wood, hardwood, flooring, concrete, stone, granite, marble, slate, masonry, brick, foam insulation of all sorts including EPS (expanded polystyrene foam), XPS (extruded polystyrene foam), and polysio (urethane) foam, carpets, metal, stainless steel, galvanized metal, lead, cement-based products, fiber cement panels, ceramic, fiberglass, drywall, rigid and cellular vinyl/PVC trim and molding and polyash trim. Loctite PL Premium is low in VOC and meets stringent state and federal regulatory requirements as well as ASTM, HUD, and APA AFG-01 specs.

My application was to bond a plastic access panel to drywall and it worked perfectly - exactly as advertised. Pop the cartridge into a caulking gun and it's ready for use. One word of caution would be to apply first to the surface you are trying to bond (in my case the plastic access panel) and let it set up for about 20 min before applying to the surface as the directions indicate. This way it almost immediately bonds and holds in place as it will dry quickly enough so the item will not move around. It takes 24 hours to fully dry, but that time is necessary in case you are trying to do something that would disturb the item before set-up is complete. It's fairly easy to use but can be a bit messy if you're not careful and mostly because at least in my case the glue kept coming out of nozzle to quickly but that was probably more an issue with the caulking gun. Also wear gloves so you don't get it on your fingers, which I failed to do - it will clean off the hands, but not easily. The only other issue is it is pretty much a one-use product, since it will dry solidly in the nozzle blocking future use unless I figure a way to clear the blockage. If you're looking for a bonding glue that will work on virtually anything, that is easy to use and a good value, this may be what you've been looking for. ... show more

Loctite PL Premium Polyurethane Construction Adhesive is about to rock your DIY world. First things first, this stuff is seriously potent. We're talking hold-a-brick-to-the-ceiling potent. Picture this: I accidentally glued my work boot to a 2x4. Did it ruin my day? Kinda. Did it destroy the bond between the wood and my boot? Absolutely not. Had to saw the boot off, but that 2x4 wasn't going ANYWHERE. Versatility? This stuff laughs at labels. Wood, metal, concrete, ceramic, even stubborn drywall that refuses to stay put – Loctite PL Premium handles them all like a champ. I've fixed wobbly deck chairs, reattached loose bathroom tiles, heck, I even used it to mend a cracked ceramic gnome (don't judge, the wife loves that creepy thing). If you apply and let it set for 2 hours (it recommends 24) then no matter how hard you pull, it's not coming off. This is because it comes out as a liquid, gets into all the cracks, then drys into a rubbery-like solid. This creates unbeatable cohesions. Excellent for concrete jobs.
