I love the Lock&Lock brand. I've been using them for quite a long time. My oldest pieces are more than 10 years old and are still going strong. I use them constantly. I know some folks hate leftovers, but I don't. If I bought it or made it in the first place, it was because I like eating it, and if I liked it today, I'll like it tomorrow too! The Lock&Locks keep everything I put into them fresh and ready to be rewarmed. I don't buy sets. Instead, I prefer to just buy the particular pieces that I need (preferably on sale--this one was 9 bucks). I can usually find a space-efficient way to store them by putting the smaller ones into the larger ones. I didn't have a Lock&Lock of this size, but I thought the size would be perfect for storing half a London broil or a couple of chicken pieces. The 54 ounce, 1.7 qt size (HPL824) is perfect. It has the familiar 4 flaps, one on each quadrant of the lid, that engage the equally familiar tabs on each quadrant of the body of the piece. The seal is tight, waterproof and secure. The dimensions in the Product Details are correct. Keep in mind that they refer to the lidded container and not just its body, which will be slightly smaller. The Lock&Locks are microwave reheatable, but I never do that. Depending on what I'm reheating, if it has tomatoes or oil, it can stain or mar the container. I transfer to the dish I'm going to serve in, and reheat that way. I do wash them in the dishwasher (top rack) and my oldest pieces are still perfectly functional. I think it would be wise to heed the warning from the manufacturer that appears in the Product Details, "ONLY LOCK & LOCK PRODUCTS "SOLD BY" AMAZON.COM ARE GUARANTEED GENUINE." If it doesn't say "Sold by Amazon.com" under the price, look over on the right side of the Product page and you can generally find one that is. It will cost a bit more, but you won't get a counterfeit knock-off. I am a retired engineer, and I think it may be that the simple, effective and direct way that the Lock&Locks solve the food storage problem appeals to my "tech-y" personality. The way that they preserve the freshness of whatever I put in them appeals to my palate, that's certain! ... show more

I have used Lock & Lock containers for many years. I had no idea that I would find this size and shape on Amazon. I needed this specific size to hold muffins that I make all the time. The Lock & Lock seals perfectly, opens and closes easily, and is easy to wash in the dishwasher--I default to the top rack if I can. It's BPA free and safe to use. Lock & Lock is sturdy, strong, and reliable. In over 20 years, I had only one lid that the lock part on the lid cracked, but I'm still using the item. I got 2 of these new containers and I look forward to the availability that is on Amazon whenever I need another shape or size. This is an excellent storage product. LocknLock makes quality containers. I would give the ones I have 4.5-5 stars. HOWEVER... The measurements shown in the product picture do not reflect the size of the product. It isn't as big as advertised. *see pictures. It's obvious they measured the lid and not the container and even that isn't accurate. I was ordering this to fit my granddaughters tea set. The tray would have fit flat if the measurements reflected the actual size. I will order something larger and use this for another purpose. It is still a quality product, but if you are looking for a specific size product, see my measurements for the size of the CONTAINER. ... show more

I use the container to store our food for our dogs that comes in packets from The Farmers Dog. Easy to wash out and does not absorb smells. It has a silicone seal in the lid with clamps on each edge that keeps it air and water tight. It was a good investment.
